Biking Banders

I just got back off of vacation and on to my bike for the first time in a week. Felt soooo good!

I would invite you to log your miles for the month of June on this thread. This is not competition, but my personal goal is to do 10 more miles than what ever Catfish does which is going to be hard since he is a skinny little guy and doesn't have as much fat to lug around.

Starting it off with today's ride 20.09 Miles, 1:15 minutes, 953 Calories.

Ok, Who is next?

Howdy fellow riders! I have been on a tear this last week riding 80+ miles over the last 6 days. I do a mix of cycling (manicured paths) & mountain bike trail riding... both with my 2013 GT Timberline 1.0 29'er. I do not like to ride on the street, so my options are pretty limited. Luckily, I have two great locations to choose from - both less than 15 min drive.

Anyone else use Endomondo for tracking? If so, send me a friend req...

Here is a link of my tracked rides.

Welcome to the biking banders forum. I'm glad Terry started this...I enjoy looking at other folks routes/rides/info. Makes me want to visit those places...ummm, maybe not Austin the the heat of the summer! :) Congrats on your progression of distance/elapsed times over the last month! Thats dedication. 6 days straight this week. Way to go!

I love reading this thread. Not posting because while we tried to make a go of it...the 4 year old can't keep up yet...so I'm looking to add a bike trailer for her with the baby in the seat behind me since he's too little to be in the trailer still. I'll be lugging around an extra 60 pounds and we won't be doing any century rides anytime soon, but at least I'll be biking!

Somtimes the best intentions dont go your way....back to back flats! Guess I should have found and picked out the TINY little stone in my tire yesterday.....

Today, forgot my phone, went back to get it, then my bluetooth headset wouldn't work (gotta have tunes!), a mile into the "ride", back tire flats again.....luckily I had stopped and picked up a couple more tubes yesterday after the flat. So, I changed it and came home and cut the grass in 95* temps...hoping this isn't a vision of whats to come with these gatorskins... I didn't have ANY flats with my last set of tires. Tomorrow is a new day! :D

Nothing more frustrating than getting derailed early in a ride. But I guess that is a little better than half way out :)

I'm taking a day off, after 6 straight. But I will be back on it tomorrow.

REO Speedwagon has some good lyrics in this song.....KEEP PUSHIN!

I used to be lonely till I learned about livin alone

I found other things to keep my mind on

And I'm gettin to know myself a little bit better

Whoa , I keep pushin on

Keep pushin on, yeah

Keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin on

Keep pushin, keep pushin, you know you have got to be so strong

Keep pushin, keep pushin, well even if you think your strength is gone

Keep pushin on

I found my speed tends to match the beat of the music I'm hearing. It has made me replace my Josh Groban & Bread for CCR, CSN&Y, and Steppenwolf! :)

Ok, perfect day for a ride and a NSV, last year I struggled to maintain 15 MPH average for 10 miles and never made it, 14.9 was the closest I came. Since being banded in January I was able to break that goal early this year, and on today's ride I maintained 17.1 MPH average for 26.29 miles.

Time: 1:32, avg. speed 17.1, distance 26.29, calories 1334

Now I have just enough time to shower and pack for a business trip, that and a mini-vacation for the family will keep me off of my bike until next week.
