Ideas needed for Breakfast

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Starting out now slowly on real foods. My doctor told me that he wants me to eat mushy foods and some solid foolds to see how I do with them. I'm torn on what to eat for Breakfast. Any ideas?

I always do well with my standard breakfast:

Morning Omelette

3 ozs egg beaters. 50 calories

2 pinches of low fat cheese. 80 calories

2 ozs of crumbled turkey sausage. 80 calories

diced onions and red peppers. 15 calories

225 calories depending on how much cheese and sausage you add.

I've never got stuck on this recipe and it is very satisfying. I sometimes add some salsa if I'm feeling frisky :P

Yogurt is good in the morning you can add some blueberries or any soft fruit if you have to eat soft food. When you can do regular food you can try adding granola, if you let it sit for a few minutes it softens up too.

That naked smoothie looks different! I might have to try that. Thanks!

I like oatmeal and used to eat it before the band. Haven't tried it yet, but I hope to soon!

I always have to eat animal Protein for breakfast. Actually, at every meal, but if I don't have it first thing in the morning, my blood sugar totally whacks out. That said, eggs are a daily occurrence :-) When I get sick of over easy, scrambled, scrambled with a little bit of 2% milk shredded cheddar......I make egg salad. I use Hellman's Low Fat mayo, and it's GREAT!

When I'm sick of eggs all together, I'll make a small turkey or hamburger patty. Sometimes, I'll have a 2oz patty with an egg on top. SOMEtimes I'll make an egg taco. I did that this morning with a corn tortilla, scrambled egg and a slice of Kraft American cheese (45 cal). Total calories - 195.

Then - when I can't face any of my breakfast options, I'll have a Protein shake :-)

That one is only 4g per bottle, but some of them go all the way up to about 30 grams of Protein per bottle. there are some with about 200 calories, going up to almost 400 calories per bottle so you probably have to use them as a Meal Replacement. I really like the flavor of some of them. but the ones with higher protein tend to taste like liquid chalk to me. they are not where I get my protein from

Personally I like to keep it simple if I have breakfast at all. A hard boiled egg or a 1 oz. chunk of extra sharp cheddar.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
