My sister and I are scheduled for surgery with Dr. Miguel Zapata on May 24 in Monterrey Mexico through Ready4Achange.com. I "lurk" on many bandster websites to take in as much info as I can. But the only person that I can find on any site that has had Dr. Zapata as a surgeon is kswan.

When we contacted ready4achange, Judy (patient facilitator) asked if we would be interested in using Dr. Zapata vs Dr. Sanchez. Judy has said nothing but great things about him and that we are all going to love him. I just wish I could find some more postings by others who had been banded by him. We are using all the Sanchez facilities (guesthouse, alma, hospital...etc.) so that is all the same.

We are both very excited about this process, both "patients" are in great spirits. We only need to lose 50 - 75 pounds each, but we have struggled for decades with this extra weight. Like most we have gained and lost this same 50-75 pounds dozens and dozens of times. Obesity, heart problem, diabetes, knee replacements, high blood pressure and more are all family markers that added to this decision.

I appreciate all the info that I get on this site. It offers a wealth of information and of course "opinions"!! If any of you have any info on Dr. Zapata, been banded by him or just want to offer advise that would be great!! I have been tasked with searching all the websites and boards for all the related info - this has been quite the learning experience!!

I lost 80 pounds and it has been one year this month. I've sent 7 people to him and 6 are at goal already and one is in within 30 pounds. We loved him.
