  1. My sister and I are scheduled for surgery with Dr. Miguel Zapata on May 24 in Monterrey Mexico through Ready4Achange.com. I "lurk" on many bandster websites to take in as much info as I can. But the only person that I can find on any site that has had Dr. Zapata as a surgeon is kswan. When we contacted ready4achange, Judy (patient facilitator) asked if we would be interested in using Dr. Zapata vs Dr. Sanchez. Judy has said nothing but great things about him and that we are all going to love him. I just wish I could find some more postings by others who had been banded by him. We are using all the Sanchez facilities (guesthouse, alma, hospital...etc.) so that is all the same. We are both very excited about this process, both "patients" are in great spirits. We only need to lose 50 - 75 pounds each, but we have struggled for decades with this extra weight. Like most we have gained and lost this same 50-75 pounds dozens and dozens of times. Obesity, heart problem, diabetes, knee replacements, high blood pressure and more are all family markers that added to this decision. I appreciate all the info that I get on this site. It offers a wealth of information and of course "opinions"!! If any of you have any info on Dr. Zapata, been banded by him or just want to offer advise that would be great!! I have been tasked with searching all the websites and boards for all the related info - this has been quite the learning experience!! Thanks!

Anyone else a fan of Big Brother?

No way, you guys are giving Erica way too much credit. The live feeds last night were discusting and tell the true tale. I will agree, that Erica is going to need that 500k for all the therapy and for her upcoming stay in the looney bin when she sees the tapes. Lets hope she doesn't own a gun!! What did Boogie call her last night in the DR, not Erica, was it "Scumica", "Slutica"? What was it? I know I sat up in my seat with my mouth hanging open.

For me now the show has lost my interest. I so wanted Janelle to win. Boogie lied and wormed his way back into Erica's head - didn't take much actually. Those of us who have the live feeds saw this coming, and it was sickening. Erica is going to be so pissed and embarrassed when she sees the tapes and Boogies diary rooms. In fact, she was even kissing him again this am and saying that they should still have a baby. I did pony up a text message for Janelle for the 25k - she's worth the fifty cents. Some of the jury house behavior is unbelievable, James is such an ass - and Howie last week, that was borderline crazed. So in my book, neither deserve to win - the excitement is gone for me...

Yeah, I'm bringing it up again

Back to the original topic, I WANT FUNNY BACK. It's a shame that it has come to people feeling that there is enough b.s. in their lives that they don't need it on what is supposed to be a support board. I don't know Funny, never met her (even though we both live in the same county here in FL), but I enjoyed her posts. If she wasn't offering true support, she was making me laugh. Hell, she even got me on her dam Soup train! I think that it is a shame that she has left. We don't all have to agree all the time, but we are supposed to be adults. This board will not be the same if you all allow Funny to leave without a fight, let her know that the majority of us care about her and want her here with us.

Boogie is HOH, so when Janelle uses the POV Boogie has to put up Will. Then Janelle has the only vote, and it must be between Will and Erica. This one will be a tough call. If she evicts Erica she against the team of Boogie and Will, if she evicts Will she's against the "showmance" of Boogie and Erica. Either way, Janelle is in this on her own.

Barbara - go to http://www.mortystv.com/big_brother.shtml it's all there.... The POV was late last night, it was based on previous food challenges and former house guests. And yes, Janelle won.

Anyone else a fan of Big Brother?

Janelle won the POV! Erica made a statement last night that I thought was interesting; "God I can never get past fourth place!". It makes me think that if Janelle doesn't play this right, she could be saying "God I can never get past third place!". I'm pretty sure she'll vote out Erica, then it just be her, Will and Boogie. She HAS to win the last HOH or she is gone. Who'd have thought Chill Town would make it this far. Did anyone think that Erica's sudden desire to talk about Josh was odd. 62 days in the house and now she brings all this up to Janelle, somethings fishy. Oh, and what did Erica eat, like 2 bites of KFC then was "stuffed" - she's got a whole other type of eating disorder. God I love this show and now it's almost over!! Go Janelle!!

Anyone else a fan of Big Brother?

I too am a BB junkie - this show just sucks me in every year. I also love Janelle, I just hope she winds up being smarter than Will (did I just really say that out loud...) The first year the live feeds were free, sponsered by AOL. You talk about slow, it was all via dial up. It used to take them 10 minutes to brush their teeth in dialup years. Thank god Al Gore invented high speed!! (That's not a slam, I really do like Al Gore, just a spoof on the republican spin of how he "invented the internet") Just a note to all you BB fans, I too get the live feeds but there is an awesome website that updates BB by people watching the live feeds and posting. Scroll down the webpage and you will see the blog start for that day and you can also check previous days. It's amazing how fast they actually do the comps inside the house, but do to the need for editing, it takes days for it to reach CBS's BB. The website is http://www.mortystv.com/big_brother.shtml. And to CYA, I am in no way affiliated with this site, I am just addictied to the updates. Glad to know I'm not alone....Go Janelle!!

    Colon Blow anyone?!?

Oh my god, just went to the website and checked out the "Outstanding Poop Pix" link - good god girl, you must let us know if THAT comes out of you!! To think that stuff is inside you. Great website, they have quite the sense of humor. Colonblow, does anyone else remember the classic Saturday Night Live Colonblow commercial from the late 80's early 90's. I'm thinking of placing my order just for the free t-shirt!!! Keep us updated - Funny were your results typical of the pix? Gosh we all all warped. You can add "poop train conductor" to your list of side jobs also...

    colon cleanse?

GNC also carries the "Super Colon Cleanse", GNC's are everywhere. You can also order it online at: http://www.healthplusinc.com. I order mine off amazon.com, shipping is usually free, quicker and I get amazon points. Capsules are a no no if you are banded, if you are close to your banding date just get the powder, otherwise the capsules will go to waste. You will take this 1 to 3 times a day depending your personal requirements. This really helps with the liquid diet phase - there's not a whole lot to "come out" at that time and this will give much needed relief. Also we've all assumed here that you are asking about the colon cleanse product, but your original question was "what's a a colon cleanse?" well technically..... Colon Hydrotherapy Colon hydrotherapy is the process of warm, filtered Water being gently fused into the colon through the anus via a plastic tubing that is disposable. This procedure must be performed by a certified or licensed professional for optimum results and safety. Colon hydrotherapy cleanses the large intestine only and the instrument used must be FDA cleared to ensure sanitary conditions. When used in conjunction with an OXYGEN based cleanser, it is possible, over time, to rid the body of toxins and impacted toxins in both the small and large intestine. Home use systems are available and are best used as an adjunct to the therapy performed by one's professional colon hydrotherapist. Colon hydrotherapy is also know as ‘colonic irrigation’ and ‘using colenemas.’ How's that for an answer? Interesting note, colon irrigation is how some stars (janet jackson) reportable lost weight. That's one diet tool that I'll pass on...

We're at the guesthouse in Monterrey

So nit-pickey when this was suppose to be a such happy thread for Sherri, Amy and Tracey. And by the way...technically Margaritas are a liquid diet. Everyone should try the Margarita diet at least once in their life!! (May take numerous tries to be successful!) And I've yet to ever step foot in a US Hospital that rivals Santa Engracia. (Just my 2 cents) Goodluck guys!!

    New diet i found

Has anyone experienced stomach pains/cramps with this soup? Yesterday was day three and late in the afternoon I started experiencing what I can only describe as waves of stomach pain/cramps. Nothing like PMS cramps. I was out shopping for the day so my diet was somewhat limited, soup and a fruit smoothie in the morning with some raw veggies and fruit in the afternoon. I also drank several bottles of Water. When I got home I ate some soup and felt better. However, the discomfort was still there and then the bloating started. For dinner I had a yellow squash, onion and red pepper saute. I progresively felt better but the bloating was constant. So today, I am still experiencing slight stomach discomfort, but mostly I am bloated. Really bloated. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms or maybe plays a dr on TV and would like to take a stab at a diognosis? Some people have experienced consipation with this diet, I have had no problems there, for me thie soup makes everything "loose" (sorry). That could be part of the problem also. Today is the banana and skim milk day, I can't wait until tomorrow - I've already bought my filets at the Fresh Market and my grill is ready!!
  13. Hello everyone!!!! My sister and I having quite the "bonding" experience as we are both scheduled for surgery with Dr. Miguel Zapata on May 24 in Monterrey, Mexico through Ready4Achange.com. As she is a RN, at first I was just trying to get her to come with me to Mexico, but the more research that we did, the more excited that she got in not only accompanying me to Mexico - but to be banded also!!!! A previously scheduled vacation has her coming here to Florida next week. (Mama Mia tix as a xmas present!). We will spend the week together on our pre-op liquid diet. Florida, vacation, liquid diet - doen't sound right does it. I tell her - margaritas are liquid....... We are both very excited about this process, we only need to lose 50 - 75 pounds each, but we have struggled for decades with this extra weight. Like most we have gained and lost this same 50-75 pounds dozens and dozens of times. Obesity, heart problem, diabetes, knee replacements, high blood pressure and more are all family markers that added to this decision. I appreciate all the info that I get on this site. I have learned so much from this community. If anyone has info or experiences with Dr. Zapata or ready4achange.com to share that would be great. Thanks! Cathy

    May 2006 Band Crew

My sister and I are scheduled for May 24th with Dr. Zapata in Monterrey Mexico. We are going through ready4achange.com. Anyone out there had him as their dr? Sister (who's a RN) may want to switch to sanchez - because we can't find out much info on zapata - but ready4achange has a great reputation.

    Any info on Dr. Zapata?

No one has an opinion, experience or sage advise on Dr. Zapata? Our surgery dates are approaching.....
  17. South Beach has many dessert recipes that utilize ricotta cheese. The easiest being 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 pkg sugar subsitute. Mix together, served chilled. Another great one is: 1/2 cup ricotta, 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 pkg sugar subsitute & dash expresso powder. Mix all but the expresso powder together, dust expresso power over before serving. I have found that just about any extract can be subsituted and some spices are a great add also. The South Beach cookbook offers some main dish sugesstions, but you would have to be pretty far along in the banding phase to be able to eat them. Hope this helps!!
