I take potassium and magnesium and have for years to stop leg cramps (charely horse) but the last couple of night I am getting them again I jump up and walk them off> Any ideas why this is starting and what I can do? Thank for the help here

Leg cramps for me have always been a sign of not enough calcium.

I had some issues & went to a naturopath. He did some tests & told me that my body wasn't processing the calcium properly. He did some adjusting & the problem went away.

Are you getting in enough water?

My doctor told me before it could be dehydration or calcium deficit.. .certainly other reasons too but if you think those may be a concern for you, try to adjust your diet and see if it helps.

Thanks for the heads up on calcium I will add that. Getting plenty of water for sure now after last week 10-8 oz even by my bed and if I wake up I sip away. Funny that it should all of a sudden happen I go to my PCP next Friday will add this to the list of question.Happy Mom's Day

I thought it was potassium, that is why we eat bananas after/during tennis matches.

I thought it was potassium' date=' that is why we eat bananas after/during tennis matches.[/quote']potassium can do it and calcium or dehydration or other medical problems from what my Dr. had told me. :) hopefully its something that simple.
