How does the band stay on?

Basically i have been checking this out online and havent read anywhere exactly how the band keeps from slipping. I did watch an actual video of the surgery and it appeared the surgeon wrapped a part of the stomach around the band and sew it back to itself. Is this the standard for all banding? Thanks.

I THINK its pretty standard now a days. Mine did exactly what you describe.

my doctor also losely sewed my band to the stomach to prevent early slippage.

Phew! Good deal. Was seriously wondering how they would keep it from moving. I also didnt know if that was something i would have to additionally ask to be done. Thanks for the replies. ???„

do talk to your doctor about any of concerns even this one

Super glue and staples.

My Dr. sews it to the stomach wall, then wraps more stomach around it and sews that in place, the does a partial plication to stiffen the stomach wall to keep it from slipping through.

Mine is sewn.
