Recommended Posts

Jus curious. What is your soft stop signals? For me, it's a easy burp. I learned the hard way that was my signal to stop eating!!

My nose drips. But I usually 'feel' it before then. I actually think my nose dripping means I've gone too far.

I simply cannot eat anymore....If I go beyond that I will start to get hic-cups.....if I go beyond that, which I cannot do and would have to be stupid to even try, or try to drink any liquids with a full pouch, then it will be coming back up......

But I have learned to "Listen" to my band and have not slimed or got stuck in well over a year now.

The band does control my food intake.......and because it also takes away my hunger...it's all good!

because of my plication, at about a cup of food, i feel (very full) and i also had had a baby burb that has been with me since i have been banded...it also lets me know.....(i feel the signs are there, people just need to look/listen for them).

I'm still struggling to find my 'soft stop'. I am (usually) meticulous with measuring out my portions, so I never have more than a cup in front of me to eat, but I almost always finish the cup. I've got pretty good hunger control, and now that I'm refilled after my recent orthopaedic surgery, I'm back on top of things again.

I was just doing dishes, and I noticed that I measure so much stuff, that I actually have 4 full sets of measuring cups, and I use them often enough to not have the 1/2 cup ones clean, when I need them. I also really prefer a scale for the harder to measure things, like cheese, dry Pasta, yoghurt (the only thing I can eat in the mornings) and nuts.

Anyone else in my boat? I am losing with my method (a hybrid of skills learned from weight watchers, and a myriad of other diets), but I wonder if I might be slowing myself down, by always finishing my cup of food at each serving?

And I don't think I am eating too quickly, as my husband usually has his meal eaten, and is back for seconds, before I finish my portion.

I do notice that I often push the dish away, or put my fork down, half way through. However, the times that I have stopped eating then, I seem to be hungry again within a few hours.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
