Has anyone lowered their weightl loss goal?

Recommended Posts

My weight loss goal has been mine, not my surgeons (see "my doctor is a crackhead" threads). I have wanted to be in a size 10 comfortably, and weigh what I did 10 years ago. But I have decided to drop my goal 10 more pounds to get into an 8 and weigh what I did 20 years ago when I was a singer in a rock band.

Yes, I am a 40 year old wife and mother but one can dream, right? And this band has really made me feel like my dreams can come true!

has anyone else lowered their initial goal once they have gotten some (or most) of the way there?

I have a lot more weight to lose than you do so, for me, I don't look too far down the road. I'm not basing my goal weight on a certain number on the scale. When I look good to myself and feel as good as I look, I'll jump on the scale. Whatever number it reads will be my goal weight. However, that's a long ways off so, for now, I take it one day at a time.

I don't have a goal Weight - I have a goal clothing size.

Right now - my goal size is a 14. I don't give a rat's @$$ about being thin - I just want to be smaller and be able to shop in a normal store. Maybe when I get to a size 18 or so, I will revise that - maybe not.

:]

Hello Heather,

My philosophy is the old saying, "If you can dream it, you can achieve it."

Remember, it is your personal goal and no one elses. If you want to be a size 8 then be a size 8. The number on the scale doesn't matter so much. You can be 150 pounds over lean muscle from working out, and be a size 8. Or you can be 120 pounds and size 8. Hope that makes sense.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
