dark under eyes

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I was banded last yr April 30th and im now ten lbs away from 100lb weight loss. The Lap Band has definitely been a journey/learning experience but worth it all in all. One thing Ive noticed in the past few months is I'm darker under my eyes. Ive never had this problem. I don't know if it's because of the weight loss. Or just because my face isn't as full as it use to be. Anyone experience this? Or any advice/ suggestions.

I have the same problem. I have what looks like dark circles and kind of like bags. I went to the plastic surgeon for a consultation and he said that they would look less noticeable if I would get filler injected into the creases to puff up the skin in the hollow space. Do you have just dark circles or a crease where the eye and cheek meet?

My looks have totally changed from where I started and I think there was a time when I looked a little more tired, thinner in the face, darker circles under my eyes. My opinion only but it takes time to get used to our new "faces" The person I see in the mirror today and the person I saw two years ago are two very different people. This is what I did to bring my new face into focus, I cut my hair, I changed my makeup, started using more night time creams, and skin brightening creams for dark spots. I do facials two to three times a week, I use a mask lotion that I found at the pharmacy, I started using the Philosophy brand of creams and lotions and I purchased a small, laser device to tighten my skin. Not sure which is working maybe a combination of all but I do not look as tired, or maybe I have gotten used to my face.

I have a darkness where the eyes meet my cheek area, toward the nose. Crease... maybe somewhat. I just started to you that clinique even better eye cream, I never wore any type of makeup before but I got this and a concealer.

It could be allergies if its just appearing. I've had circles under my eyes my whole life. When I'm irritated with allergies they get worse.

I am a skin care specialist in Tampa, and we do lose collagen under our eyes when we lose weight. The collagen could have been a buffer to the melanin changing underneath. I agree that it's time to look into a good eye cream and moisturizer. Dehydration can also cause the discoloration. As well as allergies (old and new ones). Go treat yourself to a facial in your local area and have them put you on a skin care program. Congrats on your weight loss!

Black under my eyes and all labs fine. Just had them done last week.

I never had this when I dieted on WW.

Another glorious present from having a lapband.

Awanda, I don't know how much weight you lost with your lap band. I do know that I would NOT lost as much weight as I did with WW or any other diets. I will take the black eyes, loose skin over fat any day. All your responses are negative. If you are unhappy with your lap band, that is your issue. STOP spreading your poison on this site. We are here to provide support. Take your negativity somewhere else!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
