What does 'full' feel like for you?

Recommended Posts

I was switched to soft food yesterday and I have no idea what I'm feeling after I eat. What does being 'full' feel like for you?

nothing to what I was used to from before!!! I rarely feel full, and usually only after drinking a lot of water. That was one thing that was hard to get used to, prior to the lapband I would eat my dinner until I was stuffed, and then some!

I haven't felt full in very long time. I will admit I do miss it. But with the band I just can't eat enough to ever feel full. Thank Goodness!!!

So what does satisfied feel like?

If you're eating until you're full, you're eating too much. With the band the idea is to eat until you're satisfied or no longer hungry.

It's a learning process for sure. More often than not, when you stick to band sized portions and ask yourself "Am I still hungry?" if you're the in the Green Zone your response will be "No, I'm no longer hungry . That's what satisfied means, you don't need more food.< /p>

good question, like with life, answers are sure to vary. here is my varience

with me having the band and plication, at 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food, its uncomfortable..it doesnt hurt but its a (full) feeling aka thanksgiving dinner...trying to give you an idea...that is my sign its enough and why i stop at my allotted one cup

i cant stuff myself as i am too scared and fear hurting myself but now i am 8 months out, i am totally satisfied with the amount i eat...physically and mentally... i try not to over think it..i see that on here alot.... i eat when i am hungry and i eat filling/protein foods.

Unfortunately, it can take months and maybe years to finally get in touch with your needs and cravings. Is it a craving or is it really hunger? Took me over a year to figure that one out. I actually have to physically stop, and try to get in touch with my stomach to determine if my stomach is empty and my body is asking for food, or is it my head saying put something in your mouth, anything, but preferably something with cheese and/or bacon on it? That's when I know!

When a craving doesn't come from hunger, eating will never satisfy it...Dr. Michelle May

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
