Telling your surgeon you're pregnant

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm very early in my pregnancy (somewhere between 3 and 5 weeks). I just found out yesterday and I'm wondering when to tell my surgeon. I'm a bit nervous to tell him.

I was going to wait a bit to tell him but I think I need blood work done, so I don't want to not do that just because I don't want to tell him.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm at his office now, I'm just nervous because I'm not that far out and feel that I'm kinda letting him down. Odd I know but that's me I guess.

You should have a X-ray if pregnant. Right?? At least that's what I'm remembering from my pregnancy many years ago.

I'm not sure how you are letting him down by becoming pregnant (perhaps you had some agreement with him about timing post-band?), however, you are not doing the best thing for your overall healthcare by keeping such an important matter from him. Whether he approves or not, he needs to be fully aware of these things so he can provide you with the best possible care.

and congratulations on your news!

He's a medical doctor. He can handle it. Get it out on the table so everyone knows what is going on.

Ooppss! I meant shouldn't have an X-ray. (Need to remember to read before posting.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
