Military Overseas medical clearance

Not sure where to post this. I have been banded 4 years now and haven't ever really had any issues. My concern or question is has anyone NOT been medically cleared to go on an overseas assignment due to having a lap band? Or does anyone know where I can find information on this?

did you call your military insurance? (tricare is what i have). i am sure they could offer you something...keeping fingers crossed you get the answer you are looking for.

You will have to go through your EFMP office on base...Lap band follow ups are listed as an EFMP qualification and it's also listed as a mandatory enrollment....Best Wishes :)

Wow no one ever told me that I would have to be enrolled in EFMP, etc. Had I known that I probably would not have done it.
