March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

Congratulations March LapBanders! We made it until the end of the month!!! How is everyone doing? Adjusting okay? Are you happy with your decision thus far? On Monday it will be 4 weeks since I was banded and down 20 lbs. Now I have to get moving with the exercise goals so I can wake up some muscles that have been asleep for quite sometime. I am happy with my decision and almost regret not doing it sooner. However, I am on the right track and surrounded by fellow banders like you to make this journey a little more enjoyable! Happy March to you all and we are off to April! Hugs!!!

The Gas-X strips dissolve on your tongue I got mine at Safeway. I just wish I could get it out its the worse part. This is the first time in my life that I can't wait to fart and hope its a lot LOL! Otherwise I'm good just tired but made my goal on my breathing thingy :)

LOL! One day (I think it was Thursday), I FINALLY started to release some of the gas. OMG - my dog turned around a looked to see where that noise was coming from! I was never so happy to fart in my life! And I'm pretty gassy, generally speaking. Just ask my husband - LOL!

First of all I want to wish everyone here a very Happy Easter..and for all the ones still having gas pains, my Dr told me to get papaya eminences, said it worked better then Gas X...I found it at the GNC Vitamin store...I was banded on 3-27 and I had very little pain or gas, my incision are what is giving me a fit, they are itching...but a bit of anti itch cream works wonders...I hope everyone continues to do good, and can make it through Easter..

Mine was on 3.27.13 and I'm doing recovery now. Although the Constipation pain is no fun, I don't regret my decision at all. I knew it wouldn't be easy, so God has me covered :) looking forward to the new me!!!!

Prune juice really helps with Constipation. I had the same problem, and when I drink 4-6 ounces, the next day I'm a happy camper :P

Yea, I've read on here that it helps. I think I need to try it along with some Miralax, Metamucil or Benefiber. I've tried apple juice, warm vegetable juice, Smooth Move and no results just yet.

No METAMUCIL!!!!

I just don't want someone else to go through what I did. Metamucil gells up and will create a stuck episode. Not fun. Especially that close to after surgery. The miralax is ok.

Keep us updated on your progress and questions.

Just an FYI - I finally went 4 days after the surgery, which was the day after I added prune juice.< /p>

My suggestion is to try prune juice OR Miralax. Overkill on too many poop producing things might cause you some gastric distress.

Very true, I don't want to add any more distress than what I'm experiencing now. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I was told to only take benefiber, cause the others gel up and can get stuck. I was banded on 3/27/13.

MiraLax dissolves clear and doesn't gel.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
