March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

Today will be the start of day 6 of my preop diet and I've only lost 4 lbs. I'm pretty disappointed! :( I'm following everything exact except maybe not getting enough fluids but that shouldn't make me heavier' date=' right?

I'm super excited for surgery on Tuesday though!!![/quote']

I only lost 6 at my 2 week pre op appointment

I don't know your situation, but the health benefits of not being obese were a selling point for me. High risk of heart disease including high blood pressure and cholesterol and also diabetes can be treated effectively by reducing excess body fat to a healthy level.

My wife has been banded for just over a year and has lost just over 70lbs. I am scheduled for the 20th as well. I wanna see my kids grow up.

Hi all! I just had my surgery on 3/8/13... Doing really well. I'm not a first time bander, this was actually my second revision. My first surgery was in 2006, 1st revision 2010 and this current one. I am stil glad that I started this journey... You will all be thrilled! My band is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I have lost since Surgey #1 130lbs! My goal is to drop about 20-25 more... My biggest words of advise... Follow doctors orders and start exercising ASAP! Good luck to u all!

I hope I feel better tomorrow, the port side pain is horrible, and my stomach is so bloated and tight feeling. I feel no hunger, I feel full to bursting. I have been sipping Water, Protein Shake, slim milk &v8 throughout the day and have napped quite a bit. No nausea so that's a plus.

Anyone else finding it hard to burp? It's so annoying!

Readyforthin.... I have no idea... I think my first slip may have happened bc of doctor error. I swirched Surgeons since then. I am thrilled with this guy! My doctor fixed the slip the first time and warned me it could happen again. This slip was the most painful thing ever and my revision was not planned it was an emergency surgery. I have to say though.. This is the best I have ever felt after surgery. Good luck to u:).

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
