1 week post op and feel VERY full all the time

I was banded 1/17, went home from the hospital that day then was readmitted 2 days later for nausea/vomiting/dehydration. I am now almost 1 week post op, still on clear liquids and feel uncomfortably full all the time. I sip about 3-4 cups of fluid a day which I know isn't enough but I am simply too stuffed to drink anymore. I'm supposed to advance my diet to full liquids tomorrow but I don't know how that's going to go considering how I feel just on clears. I'm calling my dr tomorrow but I'm just wondering I anyone else had a similar experience?

I hate to hear you are feel bad. Do you know if they left any fluid in your band? My nurse told me that they flush the band before they close you up to make sure the band doesn't leak. I talked to a lady at a support group that said they had left some fluid in hers and about two weeks after surgery they took it out. She said she had a really bad shoulder pain. After they took the fluid out she felt instant relief.

Just a thought I had when I read your post. Hope you find relief.

Getting in enough liquids is very important. If you're not able to do that, call the Doctor ASAP.

As far as not being hungry....enjoy it while it last. Just sip, sip, sip and try and get in as much fluid as you can.

yes, that was me 7 months ago

insides are swollen so you feel full and you are like stuffed

(i am speaking from my experience and i sounds like you)

just keep sipping no matter what...being dehydrated can make you sick/vomit

and thats not good...if in doubt ever, please call the dr...you are worth it.

hang in there okay
