Thanks Susan! I finally was approved. So, everything is good for Tuesday the 19th. Yay!!! My pre-op has been 2 Protein Shakes a day, 4 oz. of Protein from meat, poultry, cheese, etc, and as many non-starchy vegetables as I can handle. Veggies have become my new best friends! :D

Yay! Congrats!! Veggies were my best friend too during pre op!

I'm so happy for you. I see you've lost some weight. Congrats on that as well. I'm paving the way for you ;) I actually went out to lunch today to one of my favorite spots and had the chef puree his delicious seafood bisque. It was yummy. My first yummy food since the surgery.

Thanks Susan! That does sound yummy!

So how is everyone doing that was banded this month? I feel fine - still healing...but overall fine. i have lost 17 lbs so far - and it kind of freaks me out that I feel so well. Each day gets better and better...I don't want to over do it. My daughter had a sleeve done through my insurance in 2010 - they kept denying me stating I didnt have the insurance coverage. I finally - decided to just do it for myself.

But, I can tell you my experience is worlds different then hers. She was super sick...I have not thrown up, or had any issues - besides all the regular ones. Gas, etc. She looks so awesome - coming up to her 3 year mark and I so excited to start this journey. Although I know we had different processes.

I think my sleeve is not tight at all...I have no issues with drinking or anything...I actually had a small piece of mahi mahi blackened and a few pieces of steamed broccoli and cauliflower for lunch. I was just so hungy. I chewed well, and waiting to drink...and no issues.

Just had surgery 2/12/13. The first few days following surgery I wasn't hungry at all, but almost two weeks out I'm starting to feel hungry. I haven't started the Muskie stage yet. Has anyone else experienced this.

Congrats! :D

It's very normal to start to feel hungry, I know I did! I just started mushy's on monday, but it's really helped with the hunger.

That's more like it! I'm sure your liver will be fine.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
