left shoulder pain. post op. banded 1/16/13

How long does the gas pain last? My stomach is still rumbling and gassy, does the shoulder pain last as long as that does? Also, is there an indicator as to when I should call the Dr abt it? It is not unbearable, more uncomfortable.

Walk. This will help with the gas pain. My shoulder pain went away about the same time. People say gas-x helped them a lot also. You have typical symptoms right now, so there should be no need to call your surgeon. But of course if things get worse where you don't feel comfortable that things are going as planned, don't hesitate to call your surgeon, that's what they're there for.

I'm on day 6 now and all my gas pain has stopped. I still get a little shoulder pain 1st thing in the morning but when I'm up and moving around it goes away in about 10 mins. It is so so uncomfortable...... But it does pass!!! Hope it eases for you soon xoxox

Gax-X saved me the first week with the gas pains. My should pain didn't come until day 10, and you're right....it is so so uncomfortable! I've read where some people have the shoulder pain on and off, and some have it on a regular basis. That would be difficult to deal with. Hoping it goes away soon for you. It does help to walk:-)

Oh the gas in my shoulder was horrible. i thought it would never go away. I actually had a soreness on the top of my shoulder after the gas passed. I felt i couldnt take a deep breath. I did call the Doc and they said it would pass and it did. It took about two weeks. I sstill get gas in my stomach depending what I eat. I think gas is going to be a part of my life from now on.

Gas - x didn't touch my shoulder pain but my heating pad was a godsend, I had it attached to me the whole time and I took a hot water bottle with me when I left the house!...I think by day 8 the shoulder pain had all but gone! Congrats on your banding and I hope the pain lets up soon :)

my shoulder started hurting on day 4 and left me on day 8 or 9........talk about a wonderful day :)..like jim, gasx did not help me..i walked up and down my long hallway.......got in a hot shower and let the water hit my shoulder, and did windmills (hurt but def made it feel better)..managed pain with the liquid pain meds they gave me...i know it dont seem like it, but it will get better

I'm on day 4 and my gas pain and shoulder pain keeps me up at night or wakes me from my sleep. I'm drinking warm tea and walking a lot. I'm going to try gas x strips.
