hiccups?

I was just banded last Friday and my doctor told me I could have soft foods today I had fat free beans and cheese and some hot sauce and now I have severe hiccups and they are painful :( what has caused this?

I think you might have eaten too quickly or taken too big of bites & your stomach might be trying to digest everything, but just can't. Therefore, the hiccups. Try eating much slower than what you're used to, and taking reeeeally small bites of food (size of your pinky nail).

Hiccups is a classic sign of overeating and/or eating too fast with the band.

Take this as a learning experience and practice your new eating habits.

baby hiccups are my bands way of saying i have had enough...it is also (a good sign) that you ate too fast, too much, or too big of bite..just go slow as you are still very swollen inside and it needs to heal...
