Anyone experience changes to eyesight after drastic weightloss?

Ok-this may sound trivial, but I am getting ready to purchase new eyewear. My last ones were over $600, so I wonder if I should wait a few months? Not banded yet. Soon.;)

Recently on the news they were talking about people who had the bypass (gastric) who were severely deficient in Vitamin A losing their eyesight. I supposed if we all keep taking our vitamins, and have our vitamin levels checked regularly, we should be okay.

Sugar1,

you bring up an interesting aspect: nutritional deficiencies, etc.

I posted the question because I have been on dozens of boards and read thousands of threads, but not anything on eyesight.

I am one of those people with a "large head" and it is difficult finding eyewear that looks good on me. Contacts are not an option.

Thanks for your comments.

hey lovechunks! You might want to wait. My mother-in-law had gastric by-pass surgery in may '05 - after losing about 80 pounds her eyesight actually drastically improved.

Well my eye sight can't believe thats really me when I look in the mirror these days!!! "WINK" Just kidding... this is an interesting point...that I never thought of...wonder if anyone knows if it truley does help with eye sight???????
