December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!

I found a great whey Protein it is Nectars Fuzzy Navel. It is clear like a juice and has an orangey/peachey flavor. I pretend I am having a cocktail :-) It is a great deal on Amazon. I do not like the milkey ones so needed to find an alternative. I have a question does anyone have pain at their port site when they bend at the waist? Maybe I just need to heal longer but it hurts to bend to pick things up I dropped or to sitt perfectly upright it feels irritated. Thanks :-) Oh and I find a cup of prune juice a day keeps me happy.

I was banded 12/19/12 and for the past day I have experienced extreme heartburn: pain in the chest, back, and burning in the throat? I don't feel hungry. I started mushy foods on Wed. Today I had 1/2 c cream of wheat thinned, 1/4 c chicken Soup, 1 and half Protein Shakes along with 40 oz Water. Ive also tried gasx and tums. Can the band slip this soon? Or does it occur because I need to eat more? I'm 2 hours from the doctor and very concerned. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Banded the 18th too. Went to work there days later. My struggles are sleeping. I used to sleep on my belly lol kinda hurts now. Still have my surgical strips on the largest fell off. Have 5 incisions due to also having a hernia. Making my chicken enchilada Soup right now. Chicken part is just broth. It's been interesting to.say the least. Husband is eating what I am and doesn't budget unless over the road in his truck. Great support he has been. Can't wait to start working out! Go for my first fill on the 8th...nervous as heck!

Since you've gotten in quite a bit of water why not just try giving it a rest. Might still be swollen and food might have irritated you. I was banded on the 19th also and I'm not hungry either. Don't rush yourself.

Hi all! I was just banded on the 27th. I feel much better than I thought I would at this point. Had a little episode with some milk, took to large of a sip, and boy did that hurt. I look forward to keeping in touch with all of you.

Hi all, I was banded on the 21st and overall I'm healing really well. What I'm struggling with is eating! I'm on a liquid diet but I don't want soup! I want crunchy Snacks like Cheez-its or Goldfish crackers, sometimes it makes me cry. I see the scale and I'm down 17 pounds and I'm terrified that as soon I'm on mushies or solids the weight will come back.

Ugh! I'm a hot mess. I've slipped and had some Ritz crackers. I've logged every thing that goes in my mouth and I stay under 500 a day. Is that normal? If I'm absolutely starving, I'll eat 1/2 cup cottage cheese or half a cheese stick. I'm learning that if I grab cheese, that fills me up and I don't have room for the junk I really want.

Thanks for listening to me rant :) I love the support of the forum.

You are not alone. I feel the same way. I think I have what they call want power BC I will literally leave the house or drink some coffee when that urge hits me.

I can't throw it away BC its not far to my family and this is a demon that I need to face.

I'm here with you.

Its like an alcoholic in a liquor store doll but when you get the urge just send me a message and we can support each other or in that fact all of us.

Hi everyone! Banded on 12/20 and feel great so far. Go for my first fill on 1/11. I've lost 25 since my 2 week pre-op diet. How long does it take to get in the green zone where weight is coming off at a regular pace? I've lost so much that I'm afraid to get an adjustment and slow down - LOL.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
