Liquid Diet: 1 week down, 1 week to go

Recommended Posts

So the craziest thing about this liquid diet is that I'm not usually physically hungry. When I get hungry, I drink a shake and it really does curb my appetite. I just find myself dreaming of eating things. Someone will make a statement like "going to grab a bite to eat and then I'll be there" and I just think "wow....eating. How nice." I never thought I was an emotional eater but I have now definitely realized how eating and food have filled a void for me. After several weeks on a liquid diet all of my former bad habits will be broken and when I start on solids again, it will be like relearning how and what to eat!!!! Just can't let myself be tempted by any of the bad habits so they don't become habits again!!!

This has been deep thoughts by Molly. :P

You are so right!!! I am on day 8 with surgery being in a couple of days and now that I've reached this point the shakes really do work and keep me satisfied. However I've been dying for some popcorn and slipped and ate some and I feel miserable. That is a learning tool for me. Just by eating it it doesn't agree with my system at all. Back to my strict pre op diet and with a smile. It just shows me that I am an emotional eater and that my body really doesn't agree with certain foods, although I have been eating them all my life. I am excited about my new lifestyle. I have already lost 10lbs in 7 days just on the pre op diet alone. #learningasIgo

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
