Here I am reporting for duty, thanks for the PM Sarge. I feel like a HUGE failure, I have gained weight been a horrible bandster and not drinking my Water and exercising like I need to lately. Kinda been a little depressed since I have not lost in so long. I was supposed to go for an adjustment last week but my allergies have been a mess and I had too much drainage and they would not do my fill, now have to wait until May 9th. I got all depressed and then thought I would go join weight watchers for their weekly meetings, weigh in and support. My hubby thought it was ridiculous for me to have done that, saying I didn't need support that I had lost over 100 pounds without needing so why start paying for a meeting every week now? I tried to explain to him that I have hit a plateau and have gained a few pounds and that I NEEDED the support and accountabilty. He had been supportive till lately. I feel like a failure. I had lost 140 pounds initially but now that total is only 122 pounds loss, I have gained 22 pounds over a 6 month period of time. I need you guys and this board badly.

That is why I am back here at the spring bootcamp, Please pray for me that I can get back on track and get my goals set and try every day for them. Sorry for the poor-old-me pity party, but I am really depressed about my gain and just had a very bad PB episode after lunch and cannot get over it. Usually I drink hot tea an hour after I eat, but it hurts too.

I am reporting in for duty now.....Will try, try again. I don't want to go back to the person I was before at my highest weight. I know I can do it and I will commit with you all here (again) and try again....

Hey Ethel! A wee bird here on LBT told me about TOPS... they may be a little cheaper then Weight Watchers. I haven't been yet... I'm going to my first meeting on Wed. Check them out & see if there's one near you! It seems to be $24 per year + monthly dues of about $3-5 dollars. http://www.tops.org/ Check 'em out!

I can definitely understand that need for support & motivation... I've lost my drive after 20 pounds, lol! You've done GREAT for so long! You give me hope!

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled program... we won't weigh until next week, but I'm doing better today then yesterday, woohoo!! ;)

Thank you Sarge. I am reporting for duty. Boy do I need this. I am commiting to being the healthiest person I can be. I am finally properly restricted and ready to get the show on the road.

I had been at 261lbs for so many weeks I thought I would loose my mind. (lol) But with this last fill was truely the charm :clap2: and I already feel that I am on the right track.

So, I will recommit to drinking 64 oz of Water daily, eating healthy banster meals and continuing with my daily exercize routine.

I will be away from April 11th till April 21st so I will check in when I come back. (unless I get internet access while I am away)

Well fellow soldiers, I have had a setback. Please read my problem I had yesterday at this thread:

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=201338#post201338

Long story short, I had an emergency complete unfill last night. :cry I will have to start over on the fills after four weeks in May. I dread having to start over as I had finally got up to 6 cc in my 10 cc band. I am guessing the tighter it gets the more careful you have to be in how I eat and be more conscious of making sure it is practically liquid before I swallow. Needless to say, I am on Clear liquids for 2 days and then will work my way up to soft foods then solids, you know the eating rules after a fill.

I hope I can last 4 weeks with no fill in there, I know it will be very hard as I really depend on my band to keep me full. Please pray for me as I wait out these 4 weeks and going through adjustments to get me back to my 6 cc I was at.:paranoid

Thanks for being here to let me vent and for your kind responses and concerns. Have a blessed day.

Penny, hey girl, hang in there. I am in the same boat as you, gaining instead of losing. I have gained about 16 pounds over the last 5-6 months and cannot get over this. It is very depressing. But I know what to do and for the most part get tired of exercising and drinking all the Water, etc. I know it is worth it, so I am vowing (again) here on this bootcamp thread to try harder and keep at it.

You have done SO good so far. We both need to look forward and stop beating ourselves up over this gain. I know we are both tired of going the wrong way on the scale. We can do this and I am gonna be on this board a lot more for the support I need. I will pray you start losing again and that we both encouarge one another.

Take care and HANG IN THERE! You can do this!

BigEthel- So sorry to hear about your ordeal - but you will get through this & you should take this time to really consintrate on your mental game plan.

It sucks to go through what your going through- BUT if you keep focued & stubborn maybe in the end you'll bestronger than you were before - I believe you will be:0)

Penni- I can only imagine not having my band!! But if therre is one person that can conquer her demonds on her own- its you!!!!! Get pissed! Thats what I would have to do & you & I are two peas in a pod. Get angry & go grocery shopping & buy an arsenal of health against the demond! Focus on nothing but weight loss while your away for 10 days. Most importantly COME STAY WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;0)

Sue- Welcome aboard!!!

JanetC & Teresa- way to go Girlies!!!!

I lost one pound according to the scale- didn't exercise- thats today but got all my Water in & ate healthy. So something worked!

Not doing any shopping cause I am leaving on Friday. I am taking an apple ot eat on the plane and bringing my Water so if I am in the window seat I feel sorry for the other two people. Hey might just switch my seat to an aisle. That will work.

I ate Nutrisystem meals all day till supper. That is my worst time to stay on track. I don't know something just goes haywire and shorts out at supper. I can't seem to grasp that I need to eat Nutrisystem meals instead of chinese, or pizza or subway or whatever. LOL!! Just doesn't compute.

I need a new hard drive. LOL!! Mine just burned out. LOL!!!! I wanna program it for only healthy foods and exercise.

My cold is finally subsiding. I have coughing fits right at bedtime then none for most of the day. My nose is finally clear. So I can breath now. Watch I am gonna fly on Friday. I will have a relapse from all that stale air. SIGH!! That would just be my luck. LOL!!!

My computer died............... oooo Sorry I haven't checked in.... Brenda I am so sorry that happened to you! That doctor should lie down on the table and let you fill his band with a big old needle!

Some times doctors get soooo full of themselves and forget that they are supposed to be there for their patients.... Shame on him! Take it easy and get back your strength girl!

Janet and Teresa, I checked out TOPS, never heard of it before... I bookmarked it so I can go back when I have more time.. I learn so many new things from my Lap Band Friends!!!

I am so mad. about my computer....:heh: Boot camp started and kablooie!!! I am borrowing my Mommy's laptop till I get the situation under control! Looks like a motherboard... crap crap crap!:faint:

Have a good trip Nut! and take care of that cold.... has anyone ever tried that airborn pill they sell?

Sorry I won't be able to punch in as often but I have concoured the Water intake each day.. so count my blessings instead of sheep! I did good!

food has been calling me! :help: I think about food sooo much, CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

I will make good choices! I will win the battle and then I will win the war!

Private SuperDaddy...sounds naughty!

I just got back from vacation and just in time for Sarge to turn this Nancy Boy into a towering inferno of molten steel (that's good, right?).

You'll be happy to know that I brought zero amounts of junk food back from mini vacation...it was all discarded before returning.....discarded right into my belly (TIME FOR FREAKIN' BOOT CAMP!).

Gym in the morning...so time for bed.

Jon

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
