Banded Monday Afternoon

Recommended Posts

I know it's only Thursday, but I am having a lot of pain in my sides. I have not experienced the shoulder pain, but just my sides hurting really bad. Has anyone else experienced this? The pain seems to be getting a little better, but I wasn't expecting my back to hurt.

Before anyone bites me head off I will call my doctor tomorrow if they are open.

Normal. It's probably gas, so I'd take gas x strips and do some walking. Also, I know my right side hurt after surgery where my port is. It felt like I'd done 100 sit ups. Feel better!

Thanks. I think I'm just paranoid cuz I've read so many people who say they are up and moving like they never had surgery.

I didn't feel myself until day 4-5. Everyone is different. Some people took 2 weeks to feel back to normal. Of course call your doc if you want some extra reassurance :)

I was banded on Tuesday, other than a real bad Migraine everything seems to be normal. Are you bruised at all? Do you think it might be gas pain, tried gas-x?

I was banded on Tuesday and I also have the back and side pain. It is mostly on the left side of my back and my ribs on the left. It is probably gas. Walk and try some gas x that is what I have been doing and it seems to be getting better.

I also had my surgery on Monday. I forced myself to walk, even when I didn't feel like it, because I heard it was the best way to get rid of the gas pains - and they were horrible following surgery. About once every hour or two, I would get up and walk in my house for just 3 to 5 minutes.

I stopped taking the pain meds on Tuesday night because they made me want to sleep and lay around.

I still have discomfort but things are amazingly better.

I feel so much better today. Even did some Black Friday shopping this morning. Haven't taken any pain medicine today. Definitely think I'm done with that. Still aches on my sides and lower back, like I've used my muscles too much. I will give it another day and see how it feels.

Glad you're feeling better and so am I. Also did 35 minutes on the treadmill, very slow of course and got out for some back Friday shopping. I also stopped the pain meds and going back to my chai unsweetened tea, I'm sorry I do need the caffeine when it comes to the 1 cup a day.

Walking is the best remedy for those gas pains. I also stopped taking the pain meds, but still take my gas x. Having a hard time trying to get the right amount of Protein and liquids down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
