Family Driving Me Crazy!

Ok im still on liquids until monday but good grief did my life really revolve around food like this? All they do is eat and plan on eating and the smells coming up from the kitchen to my room where i can escape. Ughh. This is hard. I dont want to live my life around food anymore !

I can relate. I had my surgery in April and much to my chagrin I had to continue to cook for my husband and son. (My husband has a very strange work schedule so it is much easier for me to fix dinner than to expect him to do it). It was right then that I really got into Crock-potting. I could throw all the stuff together and then it was ready when he was. Made my life so much easier. I also would go for very short walks when it got to be too much. Don't worry...you'll be healed soon and will be able to enjoy meals with your family again. For now...just take one day at a time...and in the mean time plan on alternate activities...such as walking, leaving the house and do something you really enjoy. Don't worry...you'll do fine.

I was eating my soft foods (almost 4 weeks post-op) when my son and husband ordered Chinese food. I looked at my husband's plate and was amazed at the amount of food on it! I thought, "Wow - my plate used to look just like that!" I didn't say anything to him, though. (He's not heavy.) It's amazing how much food I used to eat.
