Happy New Years Eve!!!! We did it December Bandsters! We have taken that first step toward healthier living. I am glad we all have each other in the 'post-operation' thread - it's kinda like moving your tassel to the opposite side at graduation. I am happy to have people who understand at my fingertips. I know I am not alone in this fight. Here's to a happier, healthier, more prosperous 2013! Have a great day everyone. It's the last one of 2012 so make it count.

Well I did it. Had my damn place today. Now laying back watching Ryan Seacrest trying to fill d**k Clark shoes. I have some pain at the port site and I've had some nausea. I can't wait for the pain to subside so I can really focus on the next step to change in my life. I did have a coughing fit earlier which was not fun. Good luck to everyone and happy new year to all of us.

Have a pillow close for the coughing. I sneezed once unprepared and I wanted to die. I'm more than 10 days out now and no longer scared to sneeze. ;-)

Congratulations to us all! I'm so excited for all the new friends I've made over the last month.

Everyone of us has helped or touched a fellow bandster in someway and that is what this forum is about.

Thank you all for replying to my first post I made many months ago. Good luck and let's continue this journey together.

Good Point.. LMAO

It is under the Community tab, select social groups, then search for us.

I'm not sure you can do it from the app on your phone. You may have to go to the site on your phone or use your computer.

Hello I was banded 12/20. Port incision still sore at times. I can finally sleep on my side a lil too. During the day I wear my abdominal binder & that helps a lot with movement & making me feel secure. I start my mushy phase Friday, can't wait for a lil mashed potatoes.

Oxy...the coughing fit is good bc you are getting all that gunk out!!! (even thought it hurt at the time and pp are right pillows pressed against the belly really help). I had a huge coughing fit on day 3 and (TMI) blood and a lot thick mucus came out. I was scared to see the blood. The dr. said was it bright red or dark red. Mine was dark red and that was fine because it was old and just making its way out. After that, I felt so much better in my chest and didn't need to use the blowing machine. Plus I was content to know I wouldn't get pneumonia. I felt so good. So keep coughing it up, with a pillow on your belly!!!!

Checking in to say first if all "Happy New Year" to all my fellow bandsters or future bandsters. I was off work 12/20 for surgery and went back to work 12/31. I hope everyone is doing well. Im progressing well and the weight loss is less than it was previously, but i have been remaining steadfast and diligent with trying to eat 3 times a day and eating 1/2 to 1 cup of food. Im proud because i have no Fluid in my band and its sheer will power now, something I thought was lost.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying positive that we can do this and be successful! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
