December Bandwagon Supporters

Haven't been here in a while. I am from December 2012. Anyway, I was banded a year ago today. 81 pounds later, consistent and steady. I feel better, look better and have made significant ant improvement in my blood pressure and cholesterol. A work in progress.

Don't be afraid. This will be one of the best decisions you ever make.

I'm scheduled for lap band Dec 19th! Woohoo! So excited to continue this weight loss journey. I'm currently 29lbs down from my heaviest weight due to the pre-op diet and I'm 10 days into my liquid diet with no cheating. I've only entrusted my nearest and dearest with the news of my surgery, everyone else thinks I'm having a hernia repair (which is true). I'm praying for a speedy recovery and hoping to live a longer, healthier and more active life for myself, my 18 month old and my wonderful hubby!

Getting really nervous - have to report at the hospital at 10am tomorrow morning. Insurance has approved, I lost the final weight required by my surgeon and every thing is a go. I just with I could fast forward to tomorrow as my anxiety is peaked right now. Not looking forward to the pre-and post op of tomorrow and the week that follows.

Hope everyone else is doing well tonight.

Good luck kimk1999!! I'm sure you will do great. I have two more days of pre-op diet and then surgery is on Wednesday. I'm nervous and excited for it to be over at the same time.

My insurance only requests that you tell them when your surgery is, a few days before you have it, but there isn't anything else they "approve". Is that the case for anyone else? I think I'm getting confused by the "approval" talk surrounding surgery day...

Ps: does anyone know if you can have miso Soup as part of your pre-op diet?

Good luck everyone! Xxx Lulu

ThanksI'm in Clearwater Fl (USA). My insurance required me to do a 3 month diet with a physician. Have a comorbid condition (high cholesterol or others), then when all that was set and surgery date was picked I needed X-rays, EKG and blood work and a letter from my primary doctor. It took them about 2+ weeks to approve it.Good luck to you too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
