How Would You Describe It?

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am fairly new to this forum and have enjoyed reading so much information. I am currently waiting for insurance approval and then will hopefully schedule surgery.

I am wondering....how do you describe the bandster lifestyle? What is different about your lifestyle now with the band, what's not different?

I have so many questions!

Thanks!!!

diet is like any other but I need so much less to feel satified and its not salad every meal (thank God) I am new and still learning how to work with it (Aug 20 2012) I like the fact for me that the bands reminds me to eat slow and chew better because it will cause some pressure between the breast. Also I cant eat to much or it is uncomfortable. I am losing 2 lbs a week so I am happy.

ahope that helps

Everything is different. I have changed mh eating lifestyle. I don't consider this a diet, it's for life. I will eat this way for the rest of my life and I love it. I physically look better, I'm more active than I've ever been, my self confidence is up and I like myself again.

I love my band!

It is exactly what my doctor said it would be - I eat less and stay full longer. I do count calories and that helps me make better choices on what to eat.

Diet has such a negtive fibe, but it is kinda a diet, but not in a bad way. You make better choices, you eat less, you stay statisfied, you loose weight.

I do feel better. My asthma is A LOT better. I am able to jog again- yeah! I in general feel better because I am in control of my life.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I was also wondering about how many calories are you consuming post surgery on liquids only? Is it different for everyone?

Thank you so much for asking this question and for the great answers.

I am on my pre op diet and am feeling a little sorry for myself right now. My diet right now is pretty strict, 3 shakes a day and an extra 225 calories of certain veggies per day. Really doesnt fill me up and I constantly feel hungry. I know there is light at the end of this tunnel but it feels like I will never get there...lol

I was wondering if it would all be worth it and then I found this thread. Gives me hope!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
