have you tried the muscle milk? i tried it before my actual preop, love it, its so good. however i didnt use it the past two days because its not listed in my book. i asked today and they said yes, i could have it... it is so delicious and heavier so it curbs your appetite longer. so i am excited to know that. plus they sell it at the gas station i stop at every morning so if i forget mine, can grab one there. :)

This is so hard' date=' but i know this will pass. I got all shaky, nauseous, and have a headache, and it is only day one. Pushing through, and know it will get better. Hopefully since i get to drink shakes i will feel better. Less than two weeks though! Woot woot![/quote']

My doctor dietician said that's because your not getting enough carbs. I was told to drink a cup of orange juice if I start feeling like that. My diet is less than 1800, 40-50g of Protein, but I also have to consume at least 130g of carbs. With the carbs divided throughout the day. Pretty much a list of liquids, plus yogurt, cream Soups, and 2% cottage cheese. I am on day 3. I haven't weighed because I wasn't told to lose a certain amount. I have a slim class tommarrow and will weigh in then. Slim class is a work sponsored weight loss group. Sorta like weight watchers but not weight watchers if that makes sense.

Ugh!! The Pulmonary doc will not clear me yet! She tells me I have sleep apnea and "respiratory disease" (aka Asthma) and then says she suddenly hears a heart murmur! WTH?!?! Very disappointed … all these loops!

Hang in there...I am sure they will clear you soon...all those things make it more easier for insurance to clear ya for payment....my date is Nov 2, and I have sleep apnea and heart issues and many other issues.

November 16th and I'm getting soooo nervous about the pre op and post!!! Here's my diet!

Two Weeks prior to surgery you will be on a liquid diet. You will begin having 3 meals per day. This diet helps prepare the digestive tract for surgery, helps shrink your liver and reduces surgical risks.

Two meals per day will be liquid Protein supplements (men may need an extra Protein supplement to meet their protein requirements).

FWLB offers Premiere Protein (purchase these in our office or at Costco). Protein needs are based on a calculation of age, height and current BMI. Your protein needs will NOT change, even when you get to your goal. This is the amount you will need forever.

3rd meal will be Soup (any kind), and you may have everything that is in the Soup. Campbell's, Healthy Choice, Progresso, Chili, homemade, etc., but stay away from heavy cream soups- like Tomato basil from LaMadeline's.

You may have any of the following:

Low fat cottage cheese, Tofu

Low fat Yogurt - Greek yogurt has almost double the amount of protein

Vegetable Juices - V8, Diet V8 fusion, etc.

Iced tea (unsweetened or use artificial sweeteners)

coffee

Low fat Creamer, Skim or 1% milk, soy milk

sugar free Popsicles

Artificial sweetener

sugar-free drinks only (Crystal Light, G-2, Diet Powerade, etc)

sugar-free pudding

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
