Nsv - You Don't Look Like You Need A Band

I have been told this a couple of times lately. If you think about it then it's quite a strange thing for a person to say. I mean if I looked like a needed a band then that would mean that I was still overweight and therefore the band would not have worked. The fact that I don't look like I need/ed a band means that the band has done it's job!

people say the stupidest things...

yep folks can be as dumb as a box of rocks sometimes.

I think what people don't understand when you tell them you have a lap band and you have reached goal, is that before the band you where obessee. And without the band you would go back to being as yo where before. Some folks just don't get why diet and regular exercise for some just don't work.

I've heard that too! I've also heard that I don't look like I used to be fat. Like I would have a certain look about me if I was once fat vs thin all my life?

Silly...

Maybe I should have a tattoo on my forehead - FFP!

I had people say that to me a lot even before I started losing weight. I said, well, thank you, that's kind, but I am not healthy. I have type 2 diabetes and it is out of control. I'm making a change for my life. That shuts em up fast. I think most people mean well, and the convo of WLS makes many uncomfortable, which causes silly comments. You do look wonderful btw!
