So much respect for those already banded and made it throught the two week liquid phase! This is such a struggle for me. I'M HUNGRY!!!! I miss food and chewing. My surgery date is 6 days away, so I'm going to stick with it... but i just had to vent, lol.

It does get easier. I was banded 10/8. I was sick of the Protein Shakes and Soup. But, my surgery went smoother because of my "skinny liver," which was good because I had an undiagnosed hiatle hernia that needed to be repaired. It also helped me to visualize what a cup looks like and how I feel after eating a cup. I just got onto mushies yesterday. Good luck and remember it will be well worth it.

Hello! I had the same thing! Smooth liver so no biopsy was taken ( my doc is also trauma doc and while he's in there he removes any scar tissue, checks liver, gall bladder and hernia) I also had the hiatal hernia that was repaired. I was told that because it was repaired laparoscopically that I really need to be careful in lifting etc for 4-6 weeks.

I was banded 10/5. I move to soft foods on Saturday.

OH my, just got the call. I am having my surgery tomorrow morning 10am. Sick of pre-op shakes, but my clothes are now loose on me, so that's a great perk. So excited, but not looking forward to the pain. :)

I'm kinda freakin:( Banded at 10am tomoro, my sis was banded six days ago everything fine..some shoulder pain/gas for a few days. Sis told me she had trouble breathing right after surgery & woke up lost & disorientated.... But didn't last long. This is what's freaking me out WAKING UP AFTER SURGERY:( I'm a nervous nelly in general and make MYSELF mentally crazy...I'm not afraid of pain, had c-section, nose-tounge- eyebrow-&nipple pierced, lol, no problem! It's the breathing, waking up out of anesthesia & freaking out, and feeling weird gas bubbles in places like my chest & back.......ahhhhhhh

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
