Had my surgery this am. Already home on the couch. Definitely having pain from the gas but so far so good. I was so nervous this weekend I broke out in hives. Hoping to blog my experience soon. Best of luck to you all with upcoming surgeries. It's an exciting beginning to our new healthier slimmer lives.

I'm on day 1 of my pre op liquid phase. I'm only allowed Protein Shakes 4 times a day and a cup of veggies at night. I can have coffee if I want, but I dont. I'm home watching my kids and I can see how once I'm back at work and distracted this will be easier. But if someone nuked some chi in the break room right now I'd probably knock them over and grab it.

ok wondering if u October banders can help me out? I am having my surgery October 30th & am a little ( no actually a lot ) disappointed in my doctor.. See the only thing I had to do to get approved was 1 prove I had tried a diet plan before & Failed & then I needed a letter of necessity from my doctor which I got. Here is the thing he doesn't having me going to any kind of nutrient class nor does he do a pre opt diet & that makes me nervous, I am trying to find a nutrient that has experience in bariatric diets on my own but the closest one is a hours away & scheduling way after my surgery. So here is my question for u guys I want to do my own pre opt diet can some one give me a ideal on what i need & how to do it? i would like to do it for the last 2 weeks before surgery does that sound about right.

Thank you ahead of time if u take time out of ur busy schedule to anwer my questions.

2 weeks before is when I started mine.. I'm doing Protein Shake in the morning and one for lunch and Soup for supper .. They said any kind of soup just avoid heavy cream type Soups and during the day I can have low fat low sugar yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding , and Jello. The Protein shake I'm using is premier I bought mine at SAMs ... I hope this helps!

My scheduled surgery date is 10/23 and I had to go through six months of nutrition and exercise appts. I had to make menus and all kinds of stuff. Plus, I had to lose weight while doing all this to prove I was serious! I thought everyone had to do the same things.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
