Should have mentioned that most of the jeans/pants are shorter lengths! I am only 5'3" (part of the reason my excess weight was such a problem)!

NYC people, message me and I'll give you my address and we can arrange to meet.

i currently reside in milford

I can currently ware a Laynebryant size 16, but it's wickid loose and the same thing with the zanadi jeans (fashionbug) size 16. Still not thin enough for "regular" sized misses clothes yet i'm in the grey zone.

For tops it's not so bad i can ware a 14/16 and it's tight(got wide shoulders and boobs still) and a size 18/20 hubby says looks sloppy but i think it look fine.

Hey NYC girl--- I'm nowhere near those sizes but I both live and grew up on the upper west side. It's strange, but its comforting to know my neighbors include bandsters.

Congratulations on your losses. Where we're you banded, and how long ago? My surgery date is October 15 at NYU.

Hi all you NYers I live in the west village and having surgery at NYU oct 22nd. Anyone want to get to know each other in person? I'm feeling like I want a big apple bandster posse.

And also, I am giving away all my size 18 summer stuff bc planning on being smaller next summer. Anyone need?

I'd love a NYC get together. The only thing is, and I know it shouldn't matter, is that I will be the heaviest one. That said, I'd like to meet you all.

Hi all you NYC gals. I did a search on 'Manhattan' and saw this thread. I'm newly banded...Dr. Ren did my surgery a week ago. So far, I'm doing well...feeling OK and managing as well as possible on the all liquids. I have made some modifications...I'm drinking thicker Soups to help fill me up...and pureeing some of the ingredients....veggies and such and putting them back into the soups. Also added a couple of spoonfuls of pastina again to fill up. No problems so far and went today to food Emporium to buy some items for the mushies stage. Sugarfree pudding, instant cream of wheat, Ritz crackers for after mushies. Can't wait to put some tuna or egg salad on a couple of ritz crackers for lunch. Never would have thought I'd long for egg salad...but never thought I'd be getting a band either. Would love to hear from any of you regarding how you are doing...what kinds of experiences you all are having, and things like going out to dinner....which is such a part of living here as you all know. Have you gotten together? I'm going to try to make it to the support group at NYU...do any of you go there? I'm also going to join the Y finally after talking about doing so for many years. I have arthritis in my knees and exercising in the pool is better for me than walking/biking. Would love to hear from some of you fellow city dwellers.

Hi Bubie. There are two support groups run out of the hospital. One is for new bandsters and one is for those who are a year or more out. Did you have your surgery at NYU? If yes, the office can give you info. If not, let me know and I'll find the phone numbers for you.

I'm trying to find an informal support group for NYC folks but nothing specific so far. Just a few threads for NYC folks like this one. If you can find something more, please let me know, OK? I've been in touch with some of the NYC folks but no face to face that I can find. The info is below for the support group from the hospital. I'm a week post-op and was also very nervous about the surgery...all those gas pain horror stories...and nausea and bloating, etc. I can tell you that I had very few issues and have been feeling better and better each day, and so far no issues with the liquid diet either...even with thicker Soups and a little pastina to help fill me up. I've been hungry at times but have gotten through it with ice pops, or the Protein shakes and the soups. Good luck and please keep me posted on your recovery.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
