Anyone heard of or tried 'Bio skinny shake'? It's a Protein shake for people who want to loose weight. I'm 2 weeks post op and my nurse/nutritionist never mentioned Protein shakes so I was going to try this one? I don't want to take Protein Shakes because they contain a lot of calories and I thought they were for people trying to build a load of muscle? But this one sounded good.

No- I have never heard of that shake. I know that there are Protein drinks for weight gain, but there are also some for weight loss or Meal Replacement.

When Ive resorted to having to drink a Protein Shake I have had the low carb Tigers Milk one and the EAS low carb drink. Wal Mart makes a good generic brand.

I've never hear of that brand of shake...and also never heard of a bariatric surgeon not requiring their patients to be on Protein shakes during some portion of their time...i.e. for liquid diet phases and/or post fills.

It's essential for proper nutrition for you to have some Protein daily...and while you are on a liquid diet how else could you manage?? A bandster will need to be on a liquid diet from time to time.

Protein shakes are not necessarily only for body builders...I need them occasionally to make certain that I reach my daily protein goal. And they are not necessarily considered to be high in calories...especially if you consider that they serve as a replacement for a meal.

I buy the cheap 2lb jugs at Walmart or target of Protein powders when I need them. They are store brand and much cheaper ($15-20) than a specialized "weight loss" brand. Plus, some weight loss brands (think slim fast) do not have nearly enough Protein and are loaded with carbs and fat!!

A single scoop of Protein powder of store brand mixed with Water is usually 100-140 cal, 25-30 protein, 4 carb, 0 fat.

If you are looking for ready-to-drink shakes, I recommend premier nutrition sold at costco, SAMs club, or online.

I've never heard of that brand either. I have a Protein Drink every single morning as my Breakfast. I use a more expensive brand because I hated all the others I tried. I love my Protein Drinks. I use Unjury mixed with almond milk and PB2. Depending on which flavor unjury I use it ends up being around 205 calories for my morning meal.

I've just started the GNC lean shakes (Swiss chocolate) they are delicious and 25 grams which isn't too bad.

I have started drinking the Herbalife shakes with an added scoop of Protein. They have a wide variety of flavors. I had not lost any weight in over a month so i decided to switch to shakes to get back on the right track. These are very satisfying for me as a Meal Replacement.< /p>

Sorry I never heard of that one. I like the New Whey Liquid Protein Shots (Fruit Punch or Watermellon). You can get at Vitamin World or GNC. They are low calorie, low sodium and 42g of Protein. Take half at breakfast and half at dinner/lunch - since you will only absorb about half of that at a time...great way to supplement your protein. Just saying...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
