Gained Weight Since Surgery
well...drs and the medical profession need SOMEWHERE to gage - do you? I’m doing this so I can be more active - so I can walk run jump swim skate and play with my kiddo - i’m doing this so next summer and the summer after and the summer after that I won’t sit inside and lament why I don’t go outside - size WHATEVER doesn’t dictate my happiness - and let me tell you - because my career is dealing with people who are the “ideal” size - not everyone in a size (fill in the blank) is oh so full of joy - I always thought that girl in the cute skirt or awesome jeans had it all - and know what - she DOESN’T...a skirt/jean size doesn’t bring bliss...that comes from the inside...fix that while your fixing the other stuff cause honestly - that’s as important...and that isn’t measured by a scale and never will be. just my humble opinion...

Newbie With Bcbs Il Question
I really only know about my situation - but what they told me is that the administrator (in my case dupage med group) can be stricter and have tougher restrictions. I can’t wait to get my approval to see the surgeon!
-
Newbie With Bcbs Il Question
I have BCBS IL too - and yes - the wait is gone - BUT - you have to go to your PCP and see what their requirements are - I’m with DuPage Medical group and they DO have a 6mo wait (dietician, see your PCP, blah blah blah) so ask your primary first.

Birth Control
I’m not banded yet - but have the merina IUD - and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it - they do not recommend it for people who haven’t had children yet - and its a little sucky being “installed” but other than that - it’s worry free and I LOVE IT
-
Pcos
I haven't had surgery yet but have had laser hair removal and it rocks... Takes about a year and priceless results

Weight Loss, Periods, Mirena
I have the merina and have gotten periods (regular 6-7 day very very light flow) since it was put in. I am still quite a bit away from surgery - but as a merina person wanted to say a period is normal and no period is normal too.

Newbie And Dietician (Vent!!!)
Thank you guys - I talked to my Dr’s office today and they assured me that the DOCTOR is in charge and follow his orders - that’s all I needed to hear - I have to see my Dr. and the dietician for 6 months before approvals go through - and My DOCTOR (his nurse assured me) is the one in charge of everything here!!! Thanks for listening to my vent... I’m so excited!!!
-
Newbie And Dietician (Vent!!!)
I feel confident my Dr. will make me feel better about this part - I just have an attitude about dietitians - I probably need to stop being so defensive - Thank you all again!!! Can’t wait till this moves along.

Newbie And Dietician (Vent!!!)
I hate that everyone has their fingers in it - and honestly I’ll call the Dr. tomorrow and ask the nurse to get him a message...in the mean time - I have an appointment with him in 2-3 weeks and I’ll ask him live and in person when I see him.
-
Newbie And Dietician (Vent!!!)
I guess I’ll shut my mouth and do whatever she says - the end justifies the means. I just don’t like playing monkey in the middle -

Newbie And Dietician (Vent!!!)
i is no dumy I actually asked her today would she be the person I’d be following up/through the entire process with and she confirmed it. She’s nice and I’ve cooled off a little - I wrote her a note and blind copied the physician (ok I totally guessed his email address so maybe I didn’t blind copy him at all) but I am going to follow him first and listen to her advice - Thank you for your message following up on our appointment today. I don’t know if I communicated that I had a detailed conversation about this med (xxx) with Dr. at my appointment last week. I discussed the abdominal cramping and diarrhea which caused me to not eat (and impaired my work activities) - it was and is a vicious cycle - Dr. said take the xxx dose with my PM meal. I will report the breakfast/lunch/dinner #’s to you in a week as requested. Please let me know if I should follow your direction or Drs? Hope that wasn’t too passive aggressive - but I KNEW when she started questioning my numbers (6.5 a1c) I was going to blow a gasket - I’ve been diabetic for 10+ years and I’m not a fan of dietitians - she did not like the foods reported in my food journal because she is not a fan of Protein shakes - at all - and I do use them as a Meal Replacement and have when I’m on the go. anyway...just wondering how much emphasis they put on the dietitians counseling - I think I can switch to another office and get a different counselor - just jumping through hoops...
