Hi

I had this issue in my first year.

I increased my Protein intake. I even started doing Protein liquid/shots.

Plus

I started taking Biotin.

Eventually it subsided.

Best of luck

Josie

I commented with the same question last week! The Hair loss is scary! The responses I got included carefully watch Protein intake, take Biotin, and get a better Multivitamin (I was taking women's one a day gummies). I am going in for a fill today and will ask my doctor about it. If he has anything to add, I will post it!

I had alot of Hair loss, alot. So much that I had to have a plumber come out and fix the main drain coz it was so clogged. It does not last forever and it does start to grow back.

My advice to you:

Take 2500 mg of Biotin

Take a once a day Vitamin (to make sure your not lacking anything)

Make sure your getting plenty of Protein

Doctor responded as I thought he would! He said it's completely normal and will not last forever. What I've lost will grow back once my body levels off. He tends to be really positive/never worried about anything, but he definitely knows how to make me feel better and he has always been right so far!

It does take time for Biotin to get into your system. Think how long it takes for your nails to grow completely from the half moon to ends. Be patient and continue to take it. Honestly, I started to notice the benefits on my nails, after about 9 months. I know, I know....BUT what if I hadn't taken it...my nails would still be peeling and splitting. Be patient. My internist told me to take it.

My doctor said the Biotin does not help alone. Mine has been falling out for four months now and he put me on a Vitamin regimen and it has definitely slowed down. Thank God I have curly hair! Multiple, Iron, zinc, tons of Calcium, D, E, and Biotin. I am taking something diff every two hours. He says you have to be careful to not mess up your copper levels. Also, he said that your hair grows in three month cycles. My hair dresser agreed and also said to try Niotin hair Shampoo and conditioner. It helps for Hair loss and conditions the scalp for new growth.

The hair loss is a freaky thing! Glad mine has slowed down now.

I am a cosmetologist myself and about 3 months out from surgery mu hair was coming out in clumps. I asked my doctor and he said it wasn't the band but the anatesia OK can't spell. I wasn't sure how true that was. So I went reading online. I started taking 10000 milagrams of Biotin that I found in one tablet. I will warn you biotin can bloat you or give you gas it is a side effect of it. But who cares about gas if you can still have hair. The other thing I found out is to take a zinc pill as well so I have been. I take just one a day. Then I also read even though you eat Protein you don't always get enough so I started adding two Protein Shakes a day with the Unjury protein. I like that protein because it is high quality and no fillers. I was using bosley Shampoo and conditioner for about a month and then stopped the shampoo and conditioner because it was drying.out mu hair too much. Most those Hair loss shampoo conditioner are focusing on healthy scalp so of overly cleans scalp and then also that means your hair. With over cleaning hair it dries it out and can make it brittle and have it breaking off not just falling out. With our hair loss its not the worry of an unhealthy scalp its the inside us we need to focus on like biotin protein zinc. I do recommend using a good moistizimg shampoo and conditioner after all your hair has been through with surgery. Good luck your hair will turn around mine did. My hair is growing back in!

Thanks Dacoop! The Shampoo was very expensive and I agree with the drying out. I just normally use Suave and my hair never felt this dry. I certainly don't plan on spending the big bucks on it agai. Would rather spend it on the vitamins!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
