Do Post Banders Handle Heat Better?

Recommended Posts

I'm such a sweaty mess in the summer. I'm sure it's because of all this extra weight. Do any of you notice not being super hot all the time in the summer or at night? I will certainly be looking forward to next summer.

Katie - it happened to me. Used to always be hot! Drove my husband nuts. Now, I feel comfortable most of time - even in Summer. And I haven't even lost that much weight. 50 lbs more or less.

It was one of the NSV that I hadn't even thought of.

I'm sure you will be one of the lucky ones. :-)

Yes, it definitely changed for me also. I used to keep my ac at 60 during the summer. Now that's too cold. I've lost 100+ lbs. Funny, one of the side effects of hypothyroidism is being cold all the time. That was exactly opposite for me. Had every other side effect (weight gain, sleepiness), but was always hot.

It'll probably change for you too!

Haha wow I never even noticed until I read this post, but yeah I am definitely able to tolerate heat better. I usually would be complaining about it and blasting the air conditioner. But I like being out in the sun now.... Funny!

I've lost 20 kilos which I think is just a bit over 40 pounds and I definitely feel cooler. Apparently bigger people are a degree warmer, so my doctor told me. But yes looking forward to an Aussie summer weighing less and fingers crossed not feeling the heat so much this summer.

It changed for me. I love the summer heat now! Love being able to be outside with shorts and a tshirt. I loathe the winter and cold months. I am always so cold and miserable. I hate having to layer up to get warm.

I love the heat now. No sweat rash, no thigh chafing, confident wearing shoe string straps and short shorts and a bikini and cute dresses, no rolls of fat to accumulate heat. I definitely handle the heat with ease now (dont ask me about my hair and humidity though).

However, the downside of that is the cold. I live in Melbourne, very temperate, average winter day at this time of year is about 13, 14 degrees celcius - it never gets to snowing temperatures and I am freaking freezing all the time. Bone cold, painfully cold. I'm a teacher and schools arent warm places, I turn the heater on to blasting when I get to work, and the kids are all moaning and complaining and I have to turn it off - I have an "inside coat" which I never take off - a light, fleece lined trench and an outside coat - a big fat thick parka which I add on top of my inside coat for yard duty or even to go to the staffroom! I would absolutely die in some of the temperatures you get over there.

Everyday I get home from school at the moment, I'm that frozen that I have to have a hot bath to warm up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
