Getting Banded In 2 Weeks And Getting A Lot Of Bad Feedback :/

I'm getting banded in 2 weeks my surgery date is July 24, I'm so excited and can't wait, but friends, family and co-workers are not helping, they all say that it doesn't work, or that I'm going to feel so bad afterwards, that I'm going to vomit all the time and that I won't get rid of all the weight. None of them have the band but they'all have friends who are banded and this is why they are "informing me" of all the bad things that could happen. I'm so angry at them, I was so focused and happy about all this process. :(

Thank you guys I really needed this :) this really is a support group :D

EVERYONE tried to talk me out of getting the Lap Band. Everything from "You can do it on your own" to "Oh you don't need that, you're not that big" and beyond. My fiancé's cousin had it years ago and is still morbidly obese because he eats around the band constantly, so of course he told me "it doesn't work". I let everyone have their opinion and did what was best for me...I have never regretted it. I feel better physically and mentally, and I never get tired of the compliments!
