Approved For Tomorrow..but Got A Scary Call Today

I am all approved and scheduled for tomorrow..but today I got a call from the cardiologist telling me "you know your blood pressure is a little high but I will approve you." He was on vacation when I got my stress test, and the Dr who filled in for him told me "I passed" and he would okay me with the surgeon. The other Dr. today had a touch of concern in his voice that made me very nervous! Anyone else have high blood pressure? With meds, it was still 150/95 and goes up at times. Help!

Just remind your surgery team before you go in. You should have a brief talk with your surgeon before surgery, I did and remind him. But I am sure you will be just fine. I think a lot of people who are overweight have higher blood pressure. I think you can relax. I am saying a prayer for you!! Let us know how your are doing after!!!

I am praying too I don't think you have anything to worry about everything will be fine

I've had high blood pressure for 13 years - since I was 15 years old. I've done a battery of tests looking for the cause, because it was REALLY high at one point (around 180/110 at rest). I've been on a few different types of meds and it's still not under the greatest control (I run about 130/90 any given day). That being said, I've had quite a few surgeries and I just make sure they know ahead of time and it's no problem. They have medication they can give you during surgery to control your BP. I highly recommend following up on it though, high BP can be very dangerous over time.
