I Am Having Such A Hard Time Now.

Recommended Posts

I'm sick of trying and trying and getting no results. Makes me want to give up! I always do really good losing weight the first 2 weeks after my fill, I lose about 5-7 pounds after each fill then it stops until I get another fill! I am 20 pounds from my goal an I can't get there! I hate feeling full as weird as that sounds because I feel like I'm going to gain weight if im full. I think I am overly obsessed and it's really driving my crazy. I was on a 4 months plateua from feb to beginning of June when I got my fill and I went from 186.0 to 180.0 and I can't get past these few pounds they fluctuate between 182-179! 2 weeks after my fill I got TOM and have been having trouble since then. I'm just getting worn out. Any advice?

You won't like this advice- but it is- Keep moving forward. (that's from the Disney movie Meet the Robinsons, one of my favorites).

You've heard it before - it's a marathon, not a sprint. Keep on doing what you've been doing. Are you logging your food? Consistent with exercise? Maybe try to shake up your workouts by doing something different, or up your calories one day every 2 weeks just a couple hundred calories to shake up your metabolism.

You have lost a lot of weight- remember it gets harder as you get thinner- and you will do it!!!!

You dont mention what exercise you are doing, i can totally and probably many here can , empathise with those last few stubborn lbs that just wont shift. I had to increase my exercise by at least half again in order to get rid of the last 25 lbs, it slowed down to around a 1lb a week sometimes 2 lbs but never the 3lbs a week i was used to. Change something small, do more strength training, just make sure u are burning more calories than u are eating.. try reducing carbs a little, increase Protein, etc, increase daily intake by a 100 calories ... change something little and dont give up, just see it as a problem that needs solving and that isnt going to beat u, .. it will eventually come off if u are determined enough ... small changes can lead to small differences and that has helped me throughout this :)

I agree with the other ladies, the last few lbs are the hardest. When you have a lot of weight to loose, the lbs seem to fall off magically. But as your goal gets closer, it is harder to loose. And by the way, I find maintenance tedious! My surgeon refuses to give me any further fills, as with a barium swallow, he can tell that I can not tolerate a fill over 5 cc. It makes me jealous of other who can get 7,8 or 9 in a 10 cc band. But, anyway, I have had to lower my calorie count to around 1100 a day to loose and 1400 to stay the same. You might need to do the same. Good luck, Karen

Go to your nutritionist. She/he should be able to pin down your plateau problem. That's their job.

have you tried the "5 day pouch test" to break your plateau? (google it or search on the forums) also what about exercise? change up your current routine ... or add an extra 20-30 mins to what youre doing twice a week and see if that helps. maybe up your calories for 2 days then drop them back down and see if that shocks your body into dropping some pounds.

You look great from you avatar pic though ... great job so far!

Thank you all for you response! I guess that is the answer! More and different exercises! Its so dang hot to do anything outside around here in texas and the only time I have to get to the gym is after work at night around 1030 so I guess I will have to start going again and more often! It was so much easier when I didn't have to exercise as much lol but I know it doesn't work that way! Grrr! I love the way I look but I hate that the scale doesn't say what I want it to! Does this make sense? Anyway I am going to up my gym work outs and I will go from there! I really do appreciate everyone taking the time to reply! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
