Surgery Was February 10, 2012. Successes Since Then...

Recommended Posts

Well, so far the biggest success I have had is getting below 300 pounds for the first time in 15 years! It happened 5 days ago, and was the BEST feeling! I had previously been 302-304 for a few days. I'm not sure how many because the scale was moved and lost for a few days lol. Then we found the scale and I weighed myself and I was 298! Woohooo! The next day I weighed myself again and was 296. I was sick for a couple days and didn't go visit my dad, where the scale is. Then today I went and weighed in at 293! It's been so long since I have been this weight, I dunno what to do with myself. So far I have lost 92 pounds since the day of surgery! And I'm just getting started! I have yet to need a fill, but I know it is coming.

My legs look sooo much smaller than they used to, and so do my arms. I have gone down 3 band sizes in my bra. No cup sizes, which is fine with me.

I can walk a LOT further than I used to be able to without getting winded or feeling sick or in tons of pain. I used to barely manage 10 steps before the leg/hip pain used to start. Now I can walk through Wally World no problem, and I walked around a walking track the other day with no problems. I still have to use a rider at Walmart if it is terribly hot outside, but that is due to me having MS and heat issues, not the weight. I take my puppy out walking a couple times a day now, and actually enjoy it! I don't go to a Gym yet because I can't afford it, but I am keeping a lot more active than I used to.

I am smaller than my bf has ever seen me before, and he is constantly giving me compliments. So are my family. I only wish my mom could be here to see it. She passed away a little over a month after I had my band placed, and she was my biggest supporter. I know she is proud of me.

Just 8 more pounds and I will hit the 100 pounds lost mark! I am so thrilled and proud!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
