Just A Little Update 5 Days Po

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Just updating those who are interested. I am 5 days post op and feeling a little better everyday. I am currently down 12.4 lbs including my 2 clear liquid days before surgery. My left shoulder is still a little achy when I take deep breaths. Burps give me a little discomfort until it's expressed. My incisions look good, no bruises, no seepage. I was a little concerned about my breathing, but my doctor said it was okay. Still, I will take a deep breath and feel a tightness in my chest and left shoulder. I'm guessing that is the gas? I am really hoping that I don't have to deal with this pain in my shoulder for too much longer. I am getting really fed up with it. I've read that some women have had that problem for 7 weeks or so. I can't imagine dealing with this for that long. I am still sore in my port area. (When I sit up, lay down, twist). I am not really comfortable lying on my sides or stomach. I have really bad back problems (prior to surgery) and it's only making me feel worse. I feel like I cannot fully recover because of how my back feels. When I first get up in the beginning of the day, I walk a little crouched over because of the tightness and aching back.

I am still trying to stay positive about all of this. Sometimes I think that I made the wrong decision, but watching the scale drop makes me think otherwise. I am just ready to start feeling like my self again.

Hi there, I'm glad your feeling well. I was banded on may 31st & my shoulder pain was incredible. I don't have any more & I'm feeling good, Only have lost 6lbs. No fill for 6weeks but I feel good. I'm more of a slow & steady person so I'm going to take my fills slow. I don't want to spend my days throwing up. Sometimes I feel more guilt than regret. I sometimes feel like I took the easy way out but then realize this is what's best for me. You'll do great! & it's worth it to be healthier. I think you'll get over the regret part as time goes on. Good luck

Hope you feel much better soon! Do you mind if I ask you what was your starting weight? You had only 2 days of pre-op diet? I am having my surgery Friday the 15th. Good luck in you journey ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
