My First Mushy Meal Post Band Surgery

My first meal... It was so yummy but I was afraid to swallow. Took me 30 mins to eat 1/2 of this 1/2 cup serving. How are you all doing and what do you eat now as mushies? What was your first meal?

Hope everyone is doing great today!!!

It's crazy how a portion that seemed so tiny before surgery now seems like A LOT of food! Eating 1 cup of food takes me 45 minutes and I feel stuffed. I am not on mushies anymore.. if mushies are the same as pureed food? I am on soft foods. Lots of ground meats, tilapia, and canned fruit.

I am on the first phase of soft so oatmeal, beans, eggs... I did have some canned chicken but I put it in the processor... It is crazy who so little seems like a lot

Very true.

I think I need to go to the grocery store to find more soft foods. I need more variety than ground meat, canned fruit and yogurt. Anyone have suggestions?

Also I discovered today that ground beef isn't a great choice for me. I didn't get stuck, but even with a ton of sauce it's still pretty tough to chew down. Fish, turkey and chicken go down easier. I really don't enjoy eating the way I used to... chewing something into mush isn't very tasty. lol.

I am doing refried beans with cheese for dinner tonight. So excited. I think variety really does help.
