  1. Thanks everyone... I actually had my tummy growl today. I had 4 oz of yogurt at one sitting and that seemed like a lot for me. Thanks I was worried about how It would be after I got restriction. Of course I want to loose the extra weight but I want to do it being healthy too. Hope everyone is having a great week!
  2. Ok thanks ladies I was starting to wonder if I was broken. Have a great day!
  3. I just wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy! I doubt I will have more kids due to my age but I think that is the blessing of the band is that you can get pregnant and have all fluid removed so you can still nourish you unborn child. Maybe after your baby is born you can find another doctor to work with and you might find that you don't regret it. If you do have it removed. That is why I choose the band for the fact Its reversible. Good luck to you!
  4. Okay ladies I am 10 days post op and I have no fill in my band. My doctor doesn't believe in adding any during surgery as he says he doesn't have any way of knowing how much I might have swelled. So I know that I have zero restriction, other than the band being in place. Here is the thing. I eat 1/2 cup of mushy food 3 times a day and I have two small Protein Shakes and I am trying to get as much Water in as possible. I am not hungry at all. I get full on my 1/2 cup and sometimes less. I hear so many talking about starving and eating tons. I am not complaining but just curious is this even normal or is their something wrong? I don't vomit or have a hard time getting things down. If I did I might think the band had moved. Its been this way since my fist day. I am loosing weight and so that is great I am just worried what I will be like after a fill. I have also heard so many saying that hunger comes when you are healed. so am I not healing? I just don't know and I really wanted to ask you all what you think. I see the doctor next week so I will know more then but just wanted to know what you all think... Thanks in advance. Tam
  5. Good luck to both of you! special prayers send your way.... Looking forward to hearing from both of you on the banded side
  6. Ditto the little Rubbermaid containers... the portions are really small compared to what I was use to so this really helps me. this way I always have a quick meal and i think being prepared is a must to be successful! I have the ninja and I use it a lot for protein shakes but I think any blender will work. I am on the mushies stage right now and I would be lost without my little cheap (bought at Walmart for 19.00) food processor. Its little and only holds a few cups but I have been using it like crazy. Good luck and keep us posted!
  7. I am a coffee addict.. Or I was... I have only had two cups of decaf since I've been banded... I use 1 cup of vanilla almond milk unsweetened. A teaspoon of sugar free salted caramel torani syrup and stevia in the raw... I was a hard core extra cream and latte person... I know the torani won't work for you since it has splenda. but maybe the creamer and stevia will work! Good luck I hope you find the perfect mix to fit your new banded life!
  8. I don't have an answer for you just maybe a suggestion. I got a tattoo (my first and only) when I was 37 at a major transition time from me. I had been thinking about getting one for years. I have a trinity knot (looks like the charmed logo from the tv show) It actually is suppose to stand for the evolution of a woman.... Its small and on my shoulder. It always reminds me of my transformation in that time of my life. I am also of Irish/Scottish decent so it really fit for me. Maybe a nice little bird to show you are about to take off with a new life. I hope you find the perfect thing and that you hit your goal soon!
  9. add me too if you like.... azhoselady
  10. wanda I agree this is strange to me too. I don't have any fill in my band. Only 8 days out. I haven't been stuck yet as I am on mushies and I am so afraid to go through it. I am trying to force the water but that is a struggle. I think that the pain under breast and in back must be the "full" we know. It isn't a pleasant feeling either. I am curious to what everyone says. It makes me wonder if I will ever really enjoy eating anything ever again.
  11. I am doing refried beans with cheese for dinner tonight. So excited. I think variety really does help.
  12. since we are all new banders in this group I was wondering what "full" feels like to you? I just had a protein shake and after 4 oz of it I started to feel a little pain under my right breast. I little strange feeling in my throat... not quite like acid reflex but best way to describe it, now I have hiccups and a bit of pain across my back....I did liquids so I wouldn't call this stuck... just too much. thoughts?
  13. I am on the first phase of soft so oatmeal, beans, eggs... I did have some canned chicken but I put it in the processor... It is crazy who so little seems like a lot
  14. Can you exercise now? My Doctor said walking is okay but no exercise yet! I am doing beans for dinner tomorrow.
  15. Don't be too afraid to drink the liquids... some of us were the same... I was. the first 48 water, water, water....so you don't dehydrate.. Then if you can get a protein shake in that's awesome... welcome to the other side. I am a week out and feel really good already! Best of luck on this new journey you will do great!
  16. Isnt it funny Tammy how one little egg can taste so good! I really don't like eggs but the egg drop soup saved me last week! Hope your doing well! Tammy
  17. All true. I was banded last Friday and I was miserable for 3 days.... Sometime on Monday/Tuesday I turned the corner. Do your best with water and just like everyone says get up and walk around your house. It really does help! Welcome to the banded side!!!!
  18. Hi Ladies, I love this site... I know sometimes its off a bit on quantity but it is simple to use and gives me a good idea of what I am doing.... Please feel free to add me I would love the friends! I am azhoselady on this too! Hope everyone is doing great! Tammy
  19. My first meal... It was so yummy but I was afraid to swallow. Took me 30 mins to eat 1/2 of this 1/2 cup serving. How are you all doing and what do you eat now as mushies? What was your first meal? Hope everyone is doing great today!!!
  20. Well said Sasha..... Sara you and I are band twins.. I was banded on 5/18 too 5 days ago. I am struggling tonight. Made dinner for my family taco salads... They smelled so good. I was dying to just put one bite in my mouth, just one, but the shear fear of getting stuck or putting my health in further jeopardy kept me from doing it. I get to start mushies tomorrow. I have talked myself out of pureeing Soup, potatoes or oatmeal all day! I know some get to eat mushies sooner but my Dr says one week so I might even be off by saying tomorrow...It is so tough and the one thing we all have to remember is we wouldn't need a lap band or surgery if we weren't addicted to food and had the ability to control our portions. Food has been my comfort when I was stressed, my friend when I was lonely and certainly my confidence when I felt I had none. How are you messing up? Don't risk complications by eating things you shouldn't be. You have made it this far I know you can do it! I had my hubby go to our favorite Chinese place today and he got me hot and sour soup. We strained it so all I have is the broth left. It is heaven. I would much rather have had their taco salad but I know that will come when I am healed. Are you drinking a lot of Water? I hope we can help you in some way your my band twin and I know we can do this together!!!
  21. Hang in there... Day 5 and starting to feel human again... port pain seems to last but the incision pain went away faster for me.
  22. I was the same way.... banded on Friday 5-18. I was swollen and afraid to drink anything. I had very little the first two days. Its most important for you to get water in so you don't dehydrate! Take a deep breath and relax you are healing...We are ALL different. I was so upset on day 1 when I got on because others banded the same as we were up and saying how easy it was and I wasn't in the same place. I know for me Pain meds also slows my systems way down... so I get off them as fast as I can. (not a suggestion just what I do). today is day 5 for me and I have had two shakes a jello and about 4 ounces of soup. Also about 48 oz of water too. I am a bit hungry and getting ready to make a protein shake. Hang in there and sip, sip, sip go slow. If you are still worried call your Dr. Its worth your peace of mind. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing!
  23. You will hang in there!!!!!!! WE got your back Girl! You are gonna be a hottie soon! Just think about all the fun you are going to have soon! I've been pc window shopping on victoria's secret! LOL
