I didn't experience that during the pre-op extravaganza :). Could the headaches be caused from caffine "withdrawl"? Good luck to you. It's only a couple weeks and then you'll be onto the new you!!!

Caffeine withdrawal is fairly common when going though the liquid diet unless you were able to wean yourself off of caffeine prior to starting the diet. I had stopped all caffeinated beverages in the months prior to starting the diet, with the exception of my daily plain iced coffee. thankfully, stopping the coffee "cold turkey" did not result in a headache!

I did not experience any tummy troubles, as I was also advised by my surgeon to use powder form Benefiber dissolved into my shakes. Pre-op, I was also allowed to have 1 cup of raw salad greens every day.

Protein Shakes give you bad gass not sure if that's what you are referring to. If possible space out your food as much as possible so that your blood sugar does'nt fall. I am not diabetic but noticed a reaction when I was only eating 500 calories a day.

Honestly, I was miserable on liquids both before and after surgery. The extreme diarrhea was the worst. That led to the shakes for me. I finally had to stop the Protein Shakes from the dr's office because they figured out that I was allergic to artificial sweeteners so I switched to Boost high Protein. Now, I just avoid all artificial sweeteners.

I am on day 9 of my 14 day "liquid" diet. I have three of these high Protein Meal Replacement shakes and then I can have up to 250 calories worth of low glycemic index veggies. No fat, dressing, starch, sugar, meat, etc. Clearly it is a very low calorie version of a very low carbohydrate diet. It makes the Atkins Diet seem liberal!!

At any rate, I felt really crappy the first few days. In fact, I cheated a small bit the first 2 days. I made a thin Soup from chicken broth (acceptable item) and pureed butternut squash (not a low glycemic veggie). I did this because I figured that my headaches and dizziness were probably from low blood sugar. It worked to curb the headaches and totally did away with the dizziness. After the first 2 days, however, I did not feel to bad and have not "cheated" since. Pretty lame cheat, huh? Who would ever think you could "cheat" by eating a steamed and pureed veggie with no oil, butter, etc...? All-in-all, I have lost 6 pounds in 9 days. I imagine that a lot of it is Water, but at least I am sticking with the plan. How are you feeling these days? You have been on the liquids for a few days now.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
