3Rd Day Out And No Desire To Eat.

Today is my 3rd day out and i was told i would be ready for thick fluids today such as creamy soups etc.. I been so looking forward to this day since been on clear liquids but now i have no desire for anything. I tried a small shake this morning got it part way down. Now i am trying to do a slim fast 3 2 1 shake and no desire for it. All i can do to sip it and try to get it down. WHen does some desire for food come back. I mean i know if i dont start getting some calories into my body its going to go into starvation mode and i wont lose weight.

As you feel better, your desire for food will return. I don't want to burst your bubble but you may not lose a ton of weight right off the bat. I'm learning this is just a time to heal and train you

As you feel better, your desire for food will return. I don't want to burst your bubble but you may not lose a ton of weight right off the bat. I'm learning this is just a time to heal and train yourself for whats to come after your first fill. I wish someone would have prepared me for this BEFORE surgery. I've only lost 5 lbs since surgery and it's NOT because I'm eating too much.

Take it easy on yourself and not push too much. I did clear liquids for almost a week and didn't starve. Chicken broth never tasted so good and Popsicle became my new BFF.

My sweet daughter in law made me some very creamy potatoe soup today and i had a bowl of it. Was very nice to have it even if i wasnt really hungry.

I really think days 3-4 are the worst. The thought of some things even seemed to turn my stomach at that time. It gets better every day. I'm thinking it was probably somewhere around day seven that things really started getting better for me.

Hang in there and remember it gets better every day!

i think it was about day 6 or 7 for me too. the first few days didnt eat hardly anything couldn't tell if i was hungrey or if it was gas. then when i would try to eat i would blow up like a balloon with just a few sips. i could have any tipe liquids post op even cream soup but the only thing that tasted good those first days was the flavor pack out of roman noodels in hot water. it does get better every day.

Actually for 4 days post op i feel pretty good. I am sore but not to bad and have not had enough pain to take any meds since i got home. Had neausa the first 24 hours or so but that has susided. My potato soup my DIL made was great and i did enjoy it but that is the first thing in my mouth i have enjoyed at all and right after i eat it had that air bubble feeling in my chest.
