Port Pain After 6 Months Of Being Banded

I was banded 6 months ago and i still have port pain. not always only when i move a certain way like if i stretch the wrong way. last night during my sleep i must have turned the wrong way because i woke up with horrible horrible port pain. now today i am very sore and it hurts to cough or laugh. my doctor is 2 hours away and i just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else, is it normal, and will it get better?

Is it red or hot to the touch? If so, call your surgeon ASAP. It can be a sign of erosion. If it feels different than it has, call anyway. Even if just to speak with your surgeon about it.

I get slight pain from time-to-time around my port. Often if I have eaten too much. I can't explain why. I talked about with my surgeon's nurse practitioner, she suggested switching to a low profile port. My port is right along waistbands of many pants, it can be uncomfortable. But a revision to a low profile port is just not in my budget.

My port is between my breat bone and lower abdomen...so mid abdmen. it is on the right side...I thought this pinching and pulling would go away with time...

I cannot "feel" the port...
