How would you know if the band came off?

Today marks my two weeks since my surgery. I woke up this morning and had a protein shake and a popsicle. Then on my way to work, I had ice tea. Which lasted till about lunch time. I stopped drinking about an hour before I ate lunch. For lunch I had applesauce and two spoons of mashed potatoes. Then when I got home from work I had 1/4 cup of chicken and dumplins mushed up to be soupy. I was still hungry after I ate all that. Is this right? At first I had a lot of problems keeping liquids down and now I'm hungry and don't feel like my stomach is filled yet? I worried that the band came off? Is that possible with out knowing it?

April10 - my guess is that your swelling has just gone down and so you don't have the restriction you had before when you were very swollen. This I hear is normal. As my swelling went down, I was more and more hungry. I was eventually eating alot more than the 3/4 - 1C of food. Once you start getting fills, you'll have better restriction and won't be able to eat as much. Cross fingers!

I haven't read any posts about bands falling off and wasn't aware this could happen???

Oh, thank you! I thought I was doing something wrong or something was wrong. Thank you!

Ya, your swelling probably went down. I could almost eat as much as before surgery until my first fill (I did stay on liquids and move to mushies, then solids like my dr. said).

Good Luck!

No prob April10 - just realized I forgot to tell you congrats on your banding! Hope everything is going well for you.

Thank you, all! The weird thing is that I can eat more than mushy stuff. Tonight I'm eating meatloaf and greenbeans. Of course I'm eating small bites and chewing it till it is really small. I feel like I kind of skipped the mushy stuff.
