  1. I had my surgery on Feb. 14th and my first fill two weeks ago. Before my first fill I would eat and an hour later be hungry. Well I'm still eating and getting really hungry about an hour or two later. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem. I think I'm just not eating enough when I eat. Like I need more calories or fiber or fat, what? Can someone help me figure this out?

    Lap Band Slip?

Skye and Anwyn, Thank you both for responding. I'm glad I'm not the only one that is having this problem. Do you find that you are hungry about and hour or two after you eat? It is driving me crazy. I think I need to pump up the protein again. I'm getting my second fill 4/25. Can't wait! I'm still losing weight but just don't feel much restriction. It is all starting to come together. I just need some restriction.

    Lap Band Slip?

:Banane04: Hello everyone! I have a question. Does anyone know how you would know if you band has slipped. Does it hurt? Would you know if it has happen? Why would your port hurt a lot? I had my surgery on Feb 14th.
  4. K@t - I also have heard that. To eat at least every two to four hours to lose weight. I think I might try that or up my Protein. Prinnie - Yes, my first fill was 3/27 and I didn't start feeling any restrictions till this past sunday 4/9. Marimary - I have cottage cheese or yogurt in the morning with fruit sometimes a half of a bagel with it. lunch I either have a salad w/ or w/out meat depends on what I think I might be able to hadle that day. Some times I bring leftovers (homemade weight watchers meals) or I have a Smart Ones meal. For dinner I try and eat and sometimes just can't keep it down. So sometimes I eat and sometimes I don't. But if I do I make a weight watchers homemade meal or just have something simple like green Beans. I love green beans.
  5. Thank you! I had a feeling that is what it is. But I could not figure it out. I have to keep something that can stay in my purse at all times. It is worse when I'm driving home. I eat a good B/L&Dinner. But have to snack on something inbetween lunch and dinner and sometimes a couple of hours after dinner.

    Lap Band Slip?

I don't have any real symptoms. I just eat a lot (not as much as before the surgery) and an hour or two later I'm hungry again. I can't figure out why I'm so hungry.
  7. Thank you, all! The weird thing is that I can eat more than mushy stuff. Tonight I'm eating meatloaf and greenbeans. Of course I'm eating small bites and chewing it till it is really small. I feel like I kind of skipped the mushy stuff.
  8. Today marks my two weeks since my surgery. I woke up this morning and had a protein shake and a popsicle. Then on my way to work, I had ice tea. Which lasted till about lunch time. I stopped drinking about an hour before I ate lunch. For lunch I had applesauce and two spoons of mashed potatoes. Then when I got home from work I had 1/4 cup of chicken and dumplins mushed up to be soupy. I was still hungry after I ate all that. Is this right? At first I had a lot of problems keeping liquids down and now I'm hungry and don't feel like my stomach is filled yet? I worried that the band came off? Is that possible with out knowing it?
  9. Oh, thank you! I thought I was doing something wrong or something was wrong. Thank you!

    February 2006 bandsters unite!!

Hi my name is April from Goodwater, Alabama I had the surgery on February 14th, with Dr. Schmitt (-21)
  11. :help: On Tuesday February 14th, I had my lap band surgery. Everything went well. The next day (Wednesday) I noticed I wasn't keeping any fluids down. Well on again on Thursday I still wasn't keeping anything down. They put me in the hospital and put me on steroids and IV fluids and of course morphine. They did an upper GI and found nothing. The only thing they think it could have been was swelling. Oh, and I'm allergic to Loretab painkillers. While I was in the hospital for 2 days, I was holding some fluids down. They let me go home on Saturday and that day I was fine. Then on Sunday it started back up. I have tried an assortment of liquids to drink and nothing stays. So on my one weeks drs check up they gave me valium thinking maybe it is my nerves. I have taken about 4 of them in the past 29 hours and still am having this problem. Today I tried my first protein drink. At first it wasn't staying down and then 3/4ths in it started staying down. I also wake up at 4:30 every morning (don't know why), but I'm SOOOO thirsty and can't keep it down. Please some one help me?? The only thing that has kept me going is that I lost 20 lbs in a week. But I'm just not happy with being thirsty and not able to drink.
  12. He knows all that. He gave me the pills and he doesn't seem to care. He told me to visit these sites. It isn't just clear liquids it is any type of liquids and broth and popsicles.
