i was banded in Nov 2010 but didn't get a fill till 05 2011, so far I've lost over 25 lb, there are some days I can eat good portions and some days even Water gets stuck.... Mornings are the worse for me... Is this normal? I tried to see a lap band doctors here in Toronto but they wanted to charge me $5000 to be their patient other wise they didn't want to take me, because I was banded in Mexico... I feel lost...

I have not been able to eat anything first thing in the morning without difficulty. So for over a year now I have been having a high Protein smoothie. Sometimes that does not go down easily.

I know many other people who are that way also.

I told my Dr about it early on and he did not seem to concerned or surprised.

A lot of people find they are tight in the mornings. If you are don't try to eat. Have a warm drink as this can help to relax the band. Have a Protein shake or something when you feel that you can handle it.

Do you have allergies? If you do this could also make you tighter in the morning. Maybe you need meds.

You do need to see a Dr though. Phone around see if there is someone that will take you for less. Unfortunately this seems to be a common people that try to " save" money by having cheap surgery in Mexico. It is something people should consider and try to sort out prior to the surgery but obviously you can't. Although you have lost some weight you have banded a while and it doesn't sound as though you have lost as much as you could have if you had the care of an experienced team.

Good luck

When you lie down, you retain Water. Happens inside too. Sooo- most are tighter in the am. Pre menopausal women also change tightness as hormones shift- bloatedness is not just on the outside

Hello! I have on and off again restriction issues... I find one of the best cures is to start and end my days with a hot cup of tea or coffee... the heat helps with loosening up my band and I find my eating habits more consistent throughout the day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
