Bandster Blues

Feeling a little exhausted by all of this :-/ i tried having food today and all the chewing and taking time to eat, the planning, the worrying! I'm not regretting the band, just wanting to know I'm not the only one feeling this way! (almost 4 weeks out- on soft foods) Today i had just one meatball and did well with it but couldn't even eat the whole thing... I felt like the effort of eating it wasn't even worth the calories.

Hang in there!! I am 8 months post op and down 63lbs. The first three to four months was frustrating but I am now doing great and the band has been an amazing tool for me! It will get better, be open

  • Opti can be purchased online but I have found it at my doctors office and at a medical weight loss clinic in town.

This is what i believe is referred to as bandster hell!.. its the time after surgery before your first fill. It is hell, but one that will assure your band is healed and healthy and ready to start you on your journey. I am 7 months out. I had my first fill 8 weeks after surgery, and then have gone every 6 weeks for a fill. Once you get over this hurdle it will be much better. You will actually be able to enjoy food once again. I love not being able to finish whats on my (already downsized) plate. If i want something, i eat it. maybe not the whole thing, but 1/4 or 1/2 and im done. Hang in there, it gets better! good luck!
